Yep, Gooners have a legit chance this year, finally got a decent goalkeeper...too bad they will fold up like cheap suit as usual in the run-in. Wenger plays some really attractive football, but they can't stay healthy for a month, nevermind a season. Walcott, Grace Jones..I mean Danny Welbeck, and Wilshire are always hurt. Makes you wonder about his training methods.

If you can get Benzema and top class DM in the window, you have a good chance, otherwise I think City will walk it. Giroud just isn't good enough and ponderously slow, Walcott isn't really a striker, and Welbeck is squad player at best. A 4-3-3 with Sanchez and Walcott flanking Benzema, Ozil in the #10 and Ramsey and Coquelin behind...you might win something with that. But with the squad that's fit right now? Just don't see it.

Leicester probably don't have the squad depth to cope once some injuries start piling up (and they will in the heavily congested schedule, on rugged pitches this time of year). Liverpool don't have the quality, Spurs don't have the maturity or depth, Chelsea are too far adrift, United are really slow throughout the squad and don't score enough. Palace don't have the quality or depth, though I'm impressed by what Pardew is getting out of them.

It's making for one great season to watch. Still can't believe Chelsea sold DeBruyne off a couple years ago. That kid is going to be a world beater, great vision.

Jose was at Brighton, watching Middlesborough (his ex-assistant is manager for 'boro). Said he won't be attending any big matches to avoid speculation/rumour mill. Also said he wasn't taking a sabbatical (although I don't think that choice will be up to him!). Apparently has already turned down Roma.

He seems to be clearly angling for the United job, but I can't see them ever bringing him in. He lobbied for that job when they hired Moyes, and Ferguson and Robson said "no effin way, he's a toxic jackass". Same thing Barcelona said about him when they declined to give him an offer. Anyone that gives him more than a 2 year deal is nuts.

8 year ban for Blatter & Platini...hmmm, why not lifetime ban? At 80, I guess an 8-yr ban is essentially a lifetime ban for Blatter

It has to go to the court for Arbitration for Sport, which seems to always reduce, and sometimes overturn, such sentences.

The real ban will come with and indictment and conviction by the Swiss or USA Justice dept.

And...that was a good result.

Reilly, the Gunners are no where near the Cubs. Pretty sure they have actually won a few things during the last century.

Well, Arsenal were the better team today, but Ya Ya Toure's goal was a thing of beauty. . .

Hahahaha, LVG getting sacked in the morning. Blue racists dropping more points, my Spurs battering Norwich. Now if Soton can stuff about five past the Auntie Wenger's Woolwich Wanderers my day will be complete.

You forgot Liverpool, getting killed last week from Watford, beating the top this week.

Pep, City or United?

Didn't forget, nobody actually cares about the scousers ;^)

Origi got crocked, Foxes bound to start their descent to mid table where they belong. Unless Sturridge can get and stay healthy, they're going nowhere. Benteke doesn't fit Klopps style, and that leaves them (when Sturridge is injured, as he usually is) without any strikers worth anything. They will finish about 6th or 7th, probably behind Palace who are punching WAY above their weight. Biggest surprise for me aside from Leicester is Palace, tip of the hat to Pardew...bet Newcastle wish they'd kept him now.

If I'm Pep, I'm going to City. Much, much better squad. Go to Manure and you're looking at 2+ years of rebuilding. And I always laugh at the "he is young and could be there for a long time", in this day and age there is no patience with managers and he could win the league a couple times, then come third and get the sack. The modern day manager merry-go-round is a bit ridiculous.

Haha, I do like some of the Reds and Klopp is badass. Hopefully they can add the players he needs this winter. Kinda think they get screwed by the Red Sox owners as not being their number one priority. Biggest surprise besides Leicester is Chelsea. Love that surprise though.

Yeah Pep has said that he prefers 3 years at a club. Whichever he chooses, neither will win the Champion's. This will be his biggest test, but don't see his style flourishing in England.

Who's going to take pens for Chelski now? That Oscar effort was comedy. Yeah, I am loving watching them flounder.

Kinda hope United give Jose a two year deal just to see what he can do with their squad. Might suit him, they are so slow and poor at attacking, he could play his park the bus bore-fest style and it would fit the team. Don't think the United fans would tolerate it though, not after LVGs snoozer style got them into this mess.

United and Van Gaal have to be the comedy of the EPL. They've spent 250 million pounds on players since LVG's arrival and are still one of the most boring teams to watch. They will spend more and though the football rumours are as good and as full of sh#t as the National Enquirer, CR7 could return. I think they could get way more if they avoid that record signing, but I think they might go for him this summer.

Jose no doubt can do more with that team than Van Gaal, but kinda thinking he will end up in Spain or Italy. Or maybe he says f*#k it and joins our retirement league.

My lord what a strike by that Soton kid. Might be the best goal of the season in the prem so far.

Enjoying your boxing day, gooners? "Title challengers"...hahahahaha, Auntie Wenger's regularly scheduled collapse begins.

EDIT: Fakinel, 4 now? Should have worn your red shirts, would match Wenger's face right now.

Yeah that was an awesome strike for that first goal. Particularly for a kid in his first start. There were some bad calls, but still, Arsenal were soundly outplayed.

The big question about this season..are the lower teams in the Premier league getting better? Or the top teams getting worse?

I think it's some of both. United and Chelsea stinking the place up, and the promoted teams playing without fear.

In seasons past, I've seen too many newly promoted teams try to park the bus and eek out nil-nil draws, especially away from home. This year, they have their tails up and attack with relish. It's great to see. Props to Flores, Howe, Ranieri (yeah, I know promoted last season, not this, but still).
