Way to go blinny and trad.

I just skied with a friend who lived in the Bay Area for years,he hadn’t skied in 25 years.

He grew up in Maine ,skiing, he is now a prominent RIT design professor.

He took us to his families 4th gen Adirondack Great Camp ,where we based our ski ventures

out of. [youtube=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jdhEmx4tR2g&t=48s]

must TOTALLY understand the muscle memory thing.

My motor memory has started a heavy flirtation with Alz Heimer.

I remember getting the wax right (by pure accident) in McGurk Meadow one afternoon. It is pretty magical I must say.

I remember a big avalanche path on the backside of Obsidian Dome. It pushed trees down in both directions, first down the path and then reversed and pushed trees on the dome back in the opposite way.

Well, it's about time!! Man, you'd a been skiing in Nov if you stayed in MT! It's been a stellar area and Nordic season so far, our in-town Nordic zone has gobs of snow and the groomers have been on it. Shoot, I'm 51 and didn't start skiing till I was 28 or so; being from Bako, it is what rich folks did, so I hunted and skate'd vert till my hearts content back in those days.

Anyway, maybe you leaving is what brought it!? ;^) It's been a crazy year with an El Nino and whatnot. Looking forward to skiing in the park this summer!!

Have a great trip and be safe!!

I just happened to click on this "mysterious" thread title. And then proceeded to read it all the way through.

It's a wonderful thread about gorgeous terrain. But, what I liked most about it came about halfway through my reading. I realized who Blinny is.

I have no idea what happened and why you seemed to disappear from this forum for a while. And maybe you didn't; I'm so unaware of Supertopo "trends" that maybe you were never gone but just changed names? But I think you were gone. Either way, I'm very pleased to see that you're back.

Susan, for the record, dragging the sled is worse!

I did it once on a 5 day snowshoe trip. Never again! My two best buddies at the time and I, we traded off stomping a trail through knee to waist deep powder, second person flattened out the trail more, and last person dragged the sled. I recall a lot of cussing and being pissed off. But that was before I learned to fully embrace the joy of suffering in nature.

P.s. never is a long time, and I shouldn’t rule out my options.

P.s.s. You geezers are inspiring, helping me not feel too panicky about fading youth, and the opportunities that lie before me.
