That was a great interview!

My first trip West. 1977. We're at the Climbers ranch and stories and booze are flowing.
Two stand out: The Nose in a Day. And the the story of two kids who buy a 9mm rope and jump 150 feet off the Diving Board in order "to prepare themselves for A5". Later I heard that it was Charlie Fowler. I so want that to be true.

Another trip, another scene. We're outside of Moab-surrounded by steep 500 footers all over- No obvious lines. I ask the obvious and the answer was "Earl Wiggins".

Sometimes this world seems so stupid when your inspirations move out of touch

Here is a great photo of Charlie setting up a lead climbing route at the Telluride High School climbing wall. Charlie also helped me out when I ran the Telluride School Outdoor Program with lots of rock climbing, backcountry ski trips, and a trip to Yosemite with 12 high school students. The students loved Charlie and I really miss him a lot!!!

Missed this one. Wow! What an amazing guy.

I love the Squeamish Chief story.
