Sketchy, yep. Tell me about it!
Jon sending the Condor. No pins or fixed gear on the route. It's short but there is a lot of climbing on it.

Edit. Sadly all I had with me was 5 megapixel point and shoot when I saw this. Pretty sorry dynamic range.

102°, but not bad in the shade. Alex on Trapeze.
Alex today on the left, some kid on the right from a far away time. haha Alex gets style points for no tape. But I only have one piece, and it's a hex. ;) Heck man, I couldn't afford no gear. If you look closely you'll see I couldn't afford shoes either. I had a mismatched pair of handmedowns (One RR, one Asolo, one size 9, one size 12, haha). I was glad to have them. Way better than the sneakers I was climbing in before them. :) I was tying webbing around my waste then, until I found the harness in the picture in a dumpster. It was pretty janky, but you know, whatev's. haha

Shivers my timbers to look at those old pics of Pinky Lee, Grit Roof, and a few others because when I first did these routes I wasn't sure any of the pro was absolutely gonna hold. Put's a certain pressure on the leader not to blow.

Our very first climbing trip to Joshua Tree National Monument at the time and we pulled in at the crack of dawn right at Intersection Rock and piled out of the van. Making coffee and smoking ciggys as some blond haired guy walks right up to the rock we were having breakfast on and starts meticulously putting on his climbing shoes leaving his adidos sneakers with us. He starts going right up a crack just by us and we all stare in silence. As he gets higher and higher I tell my buddy it might be a good idea to go and get the first aid kit in case this guy decks. But he was so smooth!! Making it look like a casual outing. Later as he came back for his shoes we were all kinda dumbfounded and pretty much speechless. I managed to tell him that he was looking pretty good up there and he just looked at us as we all backed off and said 'That was nothing'
