Nancy,

What a beautifully woven eulogy for your husband. I am positive that anyone who shared their life with this man will live out their days in a manner similar to his and shares his strengths as well.

I have not known of your Brian until now, but wish that I had. Brian's wondrous ability to transition from one sport or hobby at the seemingly appropriate stage or turn in life is most impressive to me. Speaking For myself and possibly others, these are the "crux" moves in life. An aspect that challenges every being, however it seems more toilsome for those who live to test their strengths and overcome challenges. Reading Brian's eulogy is inspirational. Thank you Brian. Thank you Nancy.

Condolences Nancy and all. Cheers to Brian on a life well lived! Great, fitting words you shared with us. That’s a wonderful photo you posted as well.

The classic photo BHildebrandt posted will always be Brian to me! Isn’t that from, The Vertical World? ( edit, of Yosemite)

Condolences to Nancy, Brian's family and those close to him. I did not know Brian personally but was well aware of his accomplishments over the years. He was definitely the standout climber of the Canadian Rockies during the 60s and early 70s and most exemplified the accomplishments and character of the Calgary Mountain Club at its height of influence and social impact. Nancy was obviously his ideal life partner and wrote such a wonderful tribute. RIP Brian.

A great way to remember a man and a climber.

The name was familiar but I could not remember particulars, but the South Face of Watkins photo by Chris Jones brought the past into better focus.

A life well lived both as climber and husband.
