Here's something really far afield I saw listed for The Travel Channel today

Mysteries of the Outdoors
Without a Trace
Season 1, Episode 10
9:30 AM on TRAVP 61 • TV-PG • CC

Experts believe the ghost and UFO sightings, mysterious disappearances and a prehistoric pterodactyl are caused by a rift in the fabric of time in Yosemite National Park.

I was on that search as well. My personal feelings and intuition during that event if you will, was that there was just no feeling or "vibe" of her at all. Not like I'm a psychic but it was and is to this day quite baffling. This search has come up in my thoughts through the past years and I'm glad to see this recent post.

There was seven of us in our group, all climbers and we went over our area tooth and nail and beyond. We picked up scraps of litter and such, checked every nook and cranny. The effort was huge and professional to say the least.
When I was flown out with a K-9 handler and his dog it was beautiful. To see the real dimension of the area from the air left me with the resolve that Stacey was still out there.

I can't remember if there had been any thunderstorms but I do recall that the ground was dry and we slept out in the open. It's good to traverse all of the theories that are but I think and feel that one day someone will find her remains in the region.

The day that the search was called off I saw her father at the Tuolumne Grill and he asked a gal where he could buy some cigarettes. She scolded him about smoking in a place like a national park. When he turned around he had a strong but tired look on his face that I'll never forget.

Not to derail too much-

Animal attacks can and do certainly happen. Confirmed fatalities on the other hand- are exceedingly rare to the point of non- existent within the park boundary. All I'm saying is that it is statistically unlikely.

It's amazing how these disappearances can happen. Some years ago a church group was walking the trail near the Poudre River, above Ft. Collins, Colorado, and a little boy was running back and forth between hikers.

Then he was gone. And never found. It was speculated a cougar had grabbed him, but to my knowledge, no trace.
