Well, tuning in to the Taco Stand after a week or so, this thread is both amusing and informative. And I must say the ad hominem attacks have been kept at a low, shall, I say, threshold.

I could rebut some of the things said on this thread, but what good would that do. Those who would agree, would agree, though who would not, would not. Simple, isn't it. I cannot persuade, with facts, those who are committed to their convictions.

As far as the Duck is concerned, I have had my say about him in the past on different threads, and I do not agree with him most of the time.

But Tom is right. The Duck has been at the forefront and the "cutting edge" of SAR over the past 40 or so years, and the climbing community should respect that, and to that I can 'let go' him calling us STOOPID Americans, after all he was not born in the US (so I understand), so what better than an immigrant to call out us Stoopid Americans.

To date this whole shiittshow should be about Donald Trump and his a) nefarious background, b) his policies, and c) if he actually has committed treason. Bringing in sideshows such as Hillary is history, IMO. The crux of the matter is… is Donald Trump suited to be POTUS?

Edit

I know there is much more to it than I simplify, and one could argue that I under-simplify it, or oversimplify it. But really, it is not "rocket science". Either Trump is a piece of defecation or the best thing that ever happened to the US and indeed the world.

There are a lot of factors to consider. But gosh darn it, I pride myself in trying to look at all angles. Sure I have my biases and convictions, and I do my best to override those when I write. I am an emotional person, but I believe an honest one.

That said, I have written BS in the past, no doubt my excuse is a couple of glasses of wine. Convenient. But perhaps "in vino veritas"?

These Republicans delve so deep into the weeds it's amazing
I guess it's so they can feel still right about something

talk about BS, who was or wasn't at all the first ladies funerals, is that all you got??

How about the total hypocrisy on every other issue, how about the constant lies your side tries to sell the American People
what about the debt now??
How about the Tax scam, the EPA under attack, the minorities under attack, the lawlessness at the Very TOP

You don't care, it's all about having something to be distracted by, like Hillary's e-mails....

Do you care about the e-mails of Trump's cabinet???
Hell no, they're looting the country and you guys still care about non- crimes of Hillary, a Private citizen that lost a rigged election.
Pathetic

No Republican has any credibility on Politics, science, facts, or pretty much anything after these last year's display
The Dems may have lost the election, but the Republicans have lost everything, along with their minds which allowed them to accept and vote for an Authoritarian idiot to be our president.

It's an open question whether Hillary should have been prosecuted for the email scandals.

See Lorenzo's post above - let's do go back and re-investigate W's administration and throw the whole lot of them in prison for illegal email server use.

And if you think TrumpCo is doing all their email through official email systems then I've got a crater on the moon with your name on it for a steal.

Hmm, we'd have to look at the statute of limitations--no idea what it is but it may have run, W's been out off office for a long time.

Yes let’s do spend our time confirming our bias about whether or not I’m suited to be president. This year, next year, and on and on until I’m no longer president. But didn’t we just have an election to decide the answer to that question?

The only reason that matters why I’m suited to be POTUS is because the genius Americans elected me to be POTUS, while the other genius Americans try to convince themselves that they were too clever to ever let that happen and it must have been a big mistake.

Oh yea I see - lots of good reasons why it was a big mistake. I guess I am the genius my self-confirmation bias tells me I am, and it’s only those other stoopid Americans who are guilty of confirmation bias. It’s almost like we outsmarted those idiots and defeated Trump instead of lost to him. Let’s just imagine that we did and move on.

This is really dumb. Some people are still fixated on the relatively mild ethical lapses of a failed presidential candidate instead of focusing on the rampant ongoing corruption comitted daily by people who have real power right now.

Yeah but we don't let the crooks off the hook even if they're out of power, especially when the crimes are still fresh / no statute of limitations issues.
I'm thinking McCabe and Comey may deserve at least a brief stay in a federal "bed and breakfast."

Just so we are perfectly clear....

There is no statute of limitations on war crimes, Torture, Genocide, and Crimes Against Humanity by international laws the US has signed on to.

From the American Bar association:

One U.S. federal court has stated:
The principle of non-applicability of statutory limitations to certain violations of international law has been recognized in international instruments. The Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitations to War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity provides that “[n]o statutory limitations period shall apply” to war crimes and crimes against humanity, including genocide.

Republican congresses have spent almost a quarter of a billion dollars investigating the Clintons. Don't you think they'd have dug up something by now? If they wanted to?

I would love to see Trump sit in front of a Congressional Committee for eleven hours answering questions about Russia as Clinton did about bullshit Benghazi. The Trumpster wouldn't make it through 10 minutes of Russian questions without throwing a fit. Eleven hours.........? Love to see that.

Hillary Clinton is not POTUS. If indeed she had transgressions against the law, and despite the Duck's assertions it is all corrupt, that is a secondary concern at this point.

The person that is POTUS has so many questions surrounding him, the so-called leader of the fee, oops free, world that is more of a concern in my eyes.

You all can post your memes of pro-Trump

And Werner, shut the f*#k up. If you have any positive input then do it otherwise you are a broken record. Stick to SAR and let me respect you for that.

And pro-Trumpers, keep wanking. Your idiocy is beyond that of the anti-Trumpers.

I have been reading this thread and others. Echo chambers. I have contributed to that echo at times. But let us grow up. The system needed changing, Trump is not the guy to do it, though to some it may seem so.

Let us see what the next 18 months hold.

EDIT

I have no solutions, at least none that will be used, though I like to think I have some good ideas. But I am not a policy maker, I am a writer, and to some a poor one (look at my bank balance I am no Super-Reilly).

I do read all the posts and follow the links, right, left or center. Some of what I read is total bullshite. But I hope I can tell the difference between truth and fallacy. I HAVE interviewed presidents and prime ministers, captains of industry and celebrities. Sifting through the truth and falsehoods can be a challenge.

Or are you that thieving prick I caught going through my tent May 1975?

But Werner is at least right on one thing (finally), I am a drama queen, or melodramatic as I like to put it. Hypocrite? Yeah, I have done that too. What about you all?
