Death to spammers on the Highway to Hell! Fast road to nowhere.

Once dubbed the Richard M. Nixon Freeway, the Marina Freeway is a fast road to nowhere. Literally. It is only 1.5 miles long, and few people, other than those living in the area, have actually driven on it.

I traversed it once on foot. Never thought of Spiro Agnew the whole time.

Good point jogill.

Even if you treat it as a work of fiction, it’s as entertaining as Le Carre spy novels. Perhaps even more dramatic toward the side of a Tom Clancy meets Danielle Steele.

But I sort of liked the good old days where fact and fiction were not interchangeable. Maybe it always was, and it’s just thrust in our face more now.

The Utah legislature closed the 2018 session without passing HB0481, Donald J. Trump Utah National Parks Highway Designation.

No need to bring guns to Sushifest now, there will be no Trump road signs to shoot at.

This just in!

Utah legislator Mike Noel who proposed Trump highway retires after 16 years.

Noel has served as the chairman of the House Rules Committee for the last several years and is known for his staunch criticism of federal land policies and bureaucrats.

Noel also recently introduced a bill in the Legislature to rename several scenic roads in southern Utah as Donald J. Trump Highway. The legislator pulled the bill after he and his family received several death threats, according to Utah Policy.

Noel says he is retiring for personal, not political reasons, however.

Darn! No Trump Highway signs to shoot at & no Rep. Noel to bitch about. I guess there's no reason to go to Utah after all;)

Whenever I cross the border from Colorado to Utah on my way to Indian Creek I remark to my wife..."travel alert, entering enemy territory!"

How terrible it must be for you--surrounded by "enemies." Sad.

Lituya? Do you enjoy picking fights & using Trumpisms, re your comment on Donini's valid comment?

How terrible it must be for you--surrounded by "enemies." Sad.

I lived in SLC for a year in the mid-1980's & happily fled back to Idaho & then traveled Utah multiple-times yearly as an outdoor gear sales-rep, until retiring in 2015.

Utah has a lot of cops, who don't worry much about speeders, but worry about out of state license plates & folks that look different.

I never got a ticket in 30 years of traveling there, but I had to dance for the Logan Ut. cops one night, when they pulled me over on my 3 block drive from an eatery to my hotel.

With two cop cars flashing lights behind me, as I turned into my hotel, I stopped in front of the office & pleasantly complied with "barked" commands & assertions that I had committed an illegal lane change & smelled of wine.

I was quite happy to have the hotel manager & a number of guests watch me go through the DWI procedures, since I knew witnesses are good in incidents like this.

Since I had driven 500 miles through snowstorms that day & had just enjoyed a nice dinner & two glasses of wine, I failed the “field-sobriety” test. The cops then had me blow the alcohol-level balloon & when it didn’t show I was drunk, they had me blow it again. I kept my mouth shut about being tired, since they were totally focused on hauling me in for DWI.

At the end, the lead officer, after I had proved I had a room in the hotel, shook a finger at me and said “if we see you again tonight, we will arrest you!”

I haven’t spent a night in Logan, UT since. I’m sure the local cops like that.

That is a really nice ride in the original post, covers a lot of scenic ground. Ideal on a motorcycle and still plenty of room to sleep in the dirt. Seems ridiculous to name it after Donald Trump, since his idea of the outdoors is the beachfront of the Mar a Lago resort.

So the conservative Utah Mormon files for divorce, blows his life savings on porn and files for bankruptcy. God willed it. Actually bankruptcy has biblical roots. In the bible everyone gets a fresh start every seven years, until 2005 you could do a bankruptcy every 7 years (it is 8 years now cuz credit card companies are more powerful than god)

http://www.christian-attorney.net/bible_bankruptcy.html

"At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts. And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the LORD's release" (Deuteronomy 15:1-2).

Why hate on this idea just because apparently Trump is behind it?
