I was glad to help out. I only met Jim once. He & his girlfriend shared a few beers with my friend Mark & me at the Mountain Room bar back in 1979 or so. He was very kind & tolerant of a couple of drunk Idaho noobs.

He should get up out of his bed and walk down the halls and point his finger at all the other patients on the floor.

And shout "Get up!!!" "you ain't dead yet either!!"

And says to them ...... "Follow me" ... I see a "New Route" ......

Mr. Gordon, though it sucks to be in the hospital, Jim's smile looks good. If I actually knew him, I would visit but alas, only met him once in Ouray at at the Buen Tiempo and I doubt he remembers me. Regardless, I hope this thread helps more than the measly $25 bucks I could pitch in.

Had the pleasure of meeting Jim last year. Went over to his place and bought a backpacking tent off him. It was definitely intimidating setting up a tent with the legend himself looking over your shoulder. Even got to talk to him for an hour or so. An experience ill remember for the rest of my life. Get well soon

Talked with Jim last night, he sounded good. One thing he told me was how much he appreciates all the people who have donated, sent or wrote well wishes, the phone calls and all of the concern over his condition. He was more concerned about how I was doing(had surgery earlier this week), he is humbled as always. He still has a long road to recovery and needs all the prayers, karma, good vibes... whatever it is that you can send his way. Keep in mind Peggy and Layton, Jim’s wife and son. They have been dealt a heavy blow. Keep encouraging people to donate, what ever the amount, it all adds up to big amonts and as said...Jim truly apprecites it!
Peace
