Back in the day there was "no bridge across the Rio Fitzroy....you had to wade it's icy waters that were sometimes waste deep and always fast flowing." (Donini)

There was an old wagon in the river when I first arrived. If the water was above the axle, you waited to cross.

Fitzroy first ascent team...

The father of an owner of an El Chalten B&B was one of those guys.
The B&B has a number of cool pics on the walls.
