When I think bleak I think Mongolia. I haven't been there but just about every pic or movie I have seen of the place speaks bleak. Somebody here probably has some good pictures.

bleakness composed of these elements could mean a played out hand. the face down view offers some variability and may be seen as less bleak

Winter summit plateaus in Iceland can be bleak and beautiful.

Bleak landscapes have always been my favorite - especially barren, snowy, rocky terrain above tree line. But I also love deserts.
