Dark sh!t for me is trying to understand how Kurt Gödel could come up with his eponymous
number system yet allow himself to starve to death because his wife was sick and couldn't
prepare his food. (he would only eat food prepared by her)

The Charity of Night was a pretty dark album, Mouse. I searched youtube for for "Get up Jonah", one of its darkest songs, but I couldn't find it.

Nobody ever said understanding incompleteness would make you happy. On the other hand, Gödel was a religious man, Werner. That didn't help him any more with his insanity than his proof that time travel is possible.

You can't travel in time.
You can't forward or back in time as Time is eternal as the impersonal feature of God himself.
If you can travel in time then you would have to be God.
But we are dog, infinitesimal, only subordinate, although many try to be the superior one and ..... always ultimately fail ......

BITD, before decent headlamps, night climbing wasn't so fun. I particularly
recall guiding a dude. We did a new ice route in the Cascades in late fall
with the obligatory night descent. As I downclimbed some rock with my
flashlight in my mouth I was placing the client's be-cramponed feet right
above my face and thinking, "Self, maybe this wasn't yer best idea?"
