When babies stop breastfeeding and have more formula or other solid foods, it changes from that mustardy with tapioca seeds to some pretty dark sh#t. I'd say more of a burnt sienna if you go by crayola colors.

I'm thinking a complete traverse of the inside of the great Royal Arch in the valley. A huge rack of super wide cams and bongs. Up the left and over and down the right by Washington Column. Ugliest thing I've ever pondered.

"It grew colder and the night lay long before him. He kept moving, following in the darkness the naked chimes of rock blown bare of snow. The stars burned with a lidless fixity and they drew nearer in the night until toward dawn he was stumbling among the whinstones of the uttermost ridge to heaven, a barren range of rock so enfolded in that gaudy house that stars lay awash at his feet and migratory spalls of burning matter crossed constantly about him on their chartless reckonings. In the predawn light he made his way out upon the premontory and there received first of any creature in that country the warmth of the sun's ascending."

"He walked out in the gray light and stood and he saw for a brief moment the absolute truth of the world. The cold relentless circling of the intestate earth, Darkness implacable. The blind dogs of the sun in their running. The crushing black vacuum of the universe. And somewhere two hunted animals trembling like ground-foxes in their cover. Borrowed time and borrowed world and borrowed eyes with which to sorrow it."

Once upon a time there was a nuclear blast and the only survivor was a lowly bank clerk with Coke bottle glasses, who seemed quite happy to have survived the blast because he had got his beloved books in the bank vault with him--until he had to go looking for food outside and accidentally stepped on his glasses...

some of the content posted so far is dark, some not so dark, though I could not have been plainer in my post.
The scatological stuff is mildly amusing but not dark.
on the fence right now about Shostakovich. Leaning toward his stuff being not so dark, really.
clarity edit:
Conrad's Heart of Darkness is dark sh#t.
King Lear? Dark sh#t.
get it?

Dark sh!t for me is trying to understand how Kurt Gödel could come up with his eponymous
number system yet allow himself to starve to death because his wife was sick and couldn't
prepare his food. (he would only eat food prepared by her)

The Charity of Night was a pretty dark album, Mouse. I searched youtube for for "Get up Jonah", one of its darkest songs, but I couldn't find it.

Nobody ever said understanding incompleteness would make you happy. On the other hand, Gödel was a religious man, Werner. That didn't help him any more with his insanity than his proof that time travel is possible.

You can't travel in time.
You can't forward or back in time as Time is eternal as the impersonal feature of God himself.
If you can travel in time then you would have to be God.
But we are dog, infinitesimal, only subordinate, although many try to be the superior one and ..... always ultimately fail ......

BITD, before decent headlamps, night climbing wasn't so fun. I particularly
recall guiding a dude. We did a new ice route in the Cascades in late fall
with the obligatory night descent. As I downclimbed some rock with my
flashlight in my mouth I was placing the client's be-cramponed feet right
above my face and thinking, "Self, maybe this wasn't yer best idea?"
