Devil's Tower has the best climbing in Wyoming(!) but there is a voluntary climbing ban in effect for the month of June to observe Native American religious beliefs.

W. Face of El Cap could be a good option. Maybe do it in two days, climbing in the mornings, and enjoying a bivy in the middle, probably rigging a sunscreen tarp. There's a good ledge somewhere around the 6-8 pitch mark. Most of the route is fairly moderate free climbing, very enjoyable. Driving from CA to the Winds/Tetons is not so bad, and the scenery should remind you of home.

All good responses here.

Like previous posters here, I've climbed a lot in Yosemite and the Wind Rivers. If you can manage it, wait till mid to late August for the Wind Rivers, and dodge most of the bugs.
The Cirque of the Towers are seeing much traffic, and there is No fish in the lake below Pingora, if your a fishing enthusiast.

It is possible to have your gear packed in by local folks; including the packers at Big Sandy Lodge-http://www.big-sandy-lodge.com/

If you want to venture to more remote areas there are other packers who will take your gear all the way into the East Fork Valley, for a hefty fee.
I'm cheap, and 70 years old, but I did hike into Ambush Peak, for the last 3 years, in one day, carrying 70 pounds.
Here is a photo of the big face on Ambush Peak. I climbed a route on it 2 years ago with my son-in-law, who is from Australia, ( Sydney area). Contact me if you want more information.
