They kinda radiate peace even thru the internet pictures. The secret santa hand made wooden serving spoons have been loved into usefulness and much appreciated. My son in law keeps trying to adopt the leather, gourd, fur, wood shaker. He says it would be great at his sweats....I say nada! Happy Holiday Hugs to you and your family.

This is the start of our third winter here, and while we routinely see 150+ head 1/3 mile away in the big meadow, we've never seen more than 15 or so in our yard. We've also had tons of deer, bobcat, bear, coyote, and moose on the property, and although I've found a good deal of mountain lion sign I haven't spotted that cat yet.

Special seasons greetings to you and yours as well.
So would this be considered take out, or eating in? The dog considers them four legged Scooby snack dispensers. Mmmmm, poop balls.

I had to delay walking the dog this morning for a family of moose to move through. The cow and yearling had their eye on a favorite lilac bush, but moved along when asked firmly.

Stumbled outta the igloo, coffee cup in hand, one cold assed morning in Alaska and almost
bumped into the moose standing right behind my car. She had no interest in my coffee,
thank heavens. I asked her nicely to move so I could leave. I guess I mumbled as it seemed
she took my mutterings as an invitation to hang in the back yard for a week and a half. We
would get up in the morning and she would be staring into the kitchen window from 10' away.
BTW, 'meh' is Moose for

Just don't let Nature fly his drone over them.

and got himself a $280 ticket. . . shudda been way more. . .

Have the same on my spread but they are antelope.
I dig the hell out of it.
Also, saw a golden eagle take a rabbit 25m in front of me.
My kind of neighbors.

migration path?
Yes, Munge, we are about 1/4 mile from this particular herd's eastern range and wintering grounds, at this meadow beneath the Twin Sisters peaks at 8100'. It's a natural spot; during the summer it is used for grazing cattle and there is a good size pond in the center.
There's over 100 head, and they disappear into the surrounding woods and back to the meadow all winter. From my understanding, this herd ranges west to Rollins Pass on the Continental Divide for the summer.

The moose have just started appearing en masse west of us, and now they have started showing up here. Multiple walks in the woods confirm via poop analysis that they are indeed cohabiting with the elk, as well as the resident mule deer population.
Moqui and I saw a bobcat last week at the end of the driveway, where we have also seen a pair of healthy coyotes and a bear. Maybe I should open an extreme petting zoo?
