The new President's business interests will NOT be placed in any blind trust, as all have done for decades. Instead, he directly negotiates with other countries on his behalf, for his financial benefit.

Which is probably why he will not announce these plans before the electoral college meets next week, as he originally intended.

I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised to see Ryan and Mcconnell call for investigations into Russian hacking.

All this talk about "why it happened"... and it's a lot... 1200 posts so far... keeps reminding me of this:

They called for for investigations with congressional oversight. McCain, Lindsey Graham and the Democrats have called for an independent investigation. There's a big difference- in controlling the investigation McConnell and the Republicans will have the ability to stall and redact this thing to death or target a single patsy.

Esco,
Being in a general family practice for over 30 years gets you to the point where you just recognize things - you've been there and seen that and it's been confirmed by your referral to a psychiatrist or psychologist. I've worked with ADD, ADHD, and OCD a lot over the years. That isn't the case with people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder because they don't seek care - they consider themselves perfect already (even though their disorder is driven by a deep wound of inadequacy). Also, a fair percentage of my practice has been working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and I've written, taught on the subject, and am currently researching the genetic predispositions concerning chemical intolerance especially phenolic compound intolerance that drives expression of the disorder.

But, carry on blowing smoke and grandstanding. Some people crave being the center of attention.

Very troubling interview with Michael Hayden, former director of CIA and NSA.

the "threshold" of named sources, putting up their reputations is happening.

Sen Rand Paul on board with an investigation committed to blocking State Dept nominee (who advocates nuclear war in the middle east)

Hear his words, yourself:

Sen McCain suggests Russians may have committed an act of war.

The accuracy of the political predictions are about as informed as the medical diagnosis from people on here.

Which is to say, not at all.

good point, Excreeta

You sure failed by not predicting Donald would win, not a word from you on this

in fact you voted for the biggest loser of all, the moronic "Libertarian" party

Wow Mark, I'm not sure that was productive from a clinical standpoint.

Trump ignored the risks and the advice of many and had great success with the Trump tower.

His inflated ego and fresh star power drove him on a massive and irrational real estate investment spree that eventually had him on the edge of an absolute financial abyss.

In the end, instead of foreclosure, the banks decided that the struggling investments needed the Trump name brand to have any chance of recovery. Trump got a golden parachute, investors lost their ass and Trump claimed to have pulled off a financial miracle.

Pray that the, not so smart megalomaniac doesn't have any early successes on the foreign policy front.

Dang it, I self-banned myself from the Taco Stand, but...

Carry on I am being entertained and also informed, or misinformed, or disinformed.

I was bouldering today, as the fog rolled in off the Celtic Sea, it was great.

Now, I am up on the Rooftop, or Under the Boardwalk, or just On Broadway.

EDIT

You know, I still despise Trump (forget about Hillary, she is history).

Couchmaster, I sort of regret deleting some of my posts (in a hissy fit to myself), especially regarding the seal pup I rescued. Elsa passed away on Friday, the marine biologists at the seal sanctuary, Seal Rescue Ireland, are perplexed, she was doing so fine. About 95% of rescued seal pups make it back to release, Elsa won't.

I was growing fond of her, looking forward to her health and release. Oh well, that is nature.

As for Trump, he will self-destruct. I could be wrong.

Another Edit

I graduated from UCD on Saturday (no photos though, like my Cal State graduation many moons ago). I am starting a social enterprise to deal with dementia, but it seems there is also scope for people with other disorders, like Mr Trump's illness.

As far as academia is concerned, if I continue it will be a PhD (Post Hole Digger) in neuroscience or zoology. I first have to get a commercial venture off the ground to pay for everything.

Again, I am entertained by many posts on this thread and indeed on the Taco Stand Forum.

Thank you all for such diverse and informative viewpoints.

Haha. Yeah, wall of text writers to prop up their ego don'tl ike being the center of attention.

This is hilarious. One guy is diagnosing someone over the inter web and another made the amazing claim that he "gave him a chance" a couple weeks after the election.

The amount of hypocrisy that flows around here is stunning. If you can't be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with? What's the diagnosis on that good doctor? Lol

Esco, Just in case you didn't get the memo - the basic idea of threads on a forum is to be a resource for information or conversation.

HaHaHa! Glad to know there are still idealists about but if you insist on that, and can shoulder
a bit of equanimity, then you can not deny that Esco is a resource for conversation, if not information also.

Maybe trump won't divest because he can't? In other words, his asssets are underwater, so he can't sell them.

This is an entirely speculative idea, but given that trump exaggerates his wealth and compulsively lies, it would explain a lot. If true, it would be a lot more troubling, since he would have a much stronger incentive to not act in the natons's interest.
