you can not deny that Esco is a resource for bad conversation, if not bad information also.

Fixed it for you Reilly.

I have a bunch of friends who have radically different philosophies, politics, religious beliefs, education, socioeconomic status - up and down - and demographic than me me. Some of my closest friends are staunch Trump supporters. I have friends on the whole political spectrum.

They are friends because they have heart, they're dependable, true to their word, respectful and civil (and typically delightfully un-PC) and they do their best to bring more to the table than they take from it.

So, I say bullshit to your echo chamber idea.

Mark, you are contradicting yourself IMHO. It may appear that I have a dog
in this fight but my only dog is civil discourse. It is my considered opinion
that Esco, and those others who don't adhere to the party line here, most often
start out civilly but quickly get shouted down with the epithets and insults
coming from the Bolshi benches. That is exactly how Lenin and his original
Bolshis worked in the Duma. It was a pity that the Tsar was so wishy-washy.

Okay Fear, I'll post some pix of the outcrops I boulder on.

Let me reduce them to a size there Taco Stand will accept. I first will post a photo (I have put on the Taco Stand before) of me about 18 months ago.

The rest will be...

The outcrop with less sand and (and therefore good little "routes") and with the sea being the relentless SOB (hah hah, sailed in Force 8+ gales? I have, it's ... not... fun) it can be with depositing sand on my bouldering, boo hoo. Goddamn mother nature, how dare does Gaia ruin my bouldering.

I live alone, there are also few people who come along so I have no photos of me actually bouldering except a few from about 18 months ago. I have the outcrops to myself, sort of nice, but then it is also fun to have fellow climbers bouldering... not i the case of Ballytrent Beach.

I know folks, not much, but it is all I have. there is no rock in Wexford, except that pile of... except Rocklands on the outskirts of town... okay rock (20 meters height at best), horrible approach, rattlesnakes, grizzly bears, LA gangs... and gorse. The gorse is the worse.

No John, those are not implants, but I have managed to implant about 20 pounds of fat over the years. Donnie Trump and I can match bellies, I may even get on The Apprentice Belly show... "See how much fat you can store between your brains, uh, ears".

The winner is....

Patrick.

EDIT

Now, I have more serious business than the Taco Stand. I have to pump out a short story (less than 5,000 words) for a competition (€2,000 first prize, I could use that) that the Sunday Business Post and Penguin Ireland are running, deadline 5pm (17:00) Friday December 16.

I could use one of the many shorts I have written since age 7, but I cannot use a published one, drat.

So I am thinking, what about two climbers who...

Patrick, Sweet spot! Ireland has so many beautiful places.

Been out there a couple of times. We ended up mainly staying on the west coast and especially Slea Head at the tip of Dingle Penninsula. Stayed both times at a small cottage near Couminole Beach. Couldn't be more peaceful and beautiful, but watch out for the traffic jams caused by sheep!

Reilly, I am fine with having a debate and people having an argument opposed to mine. That kind of discourse is great if there's some substance, rigor and good humor to it. If you've got a point to make step up your game and make it!

And, yeah, it doesn't matter which side is being uncivil or intellectually lazy - either way it's boorish.

And, please everyone, stop making it about us and them. There is too much of that going on. Using the labels libtard and reptard undermine discourse and are a flag for lazy thinking. Remember the saying divide and conquer? Follow the money and you'll know who benefit.

Reilly. bluering, klimmer, pyro, cosmic, and tgt have done nothing but hurl pejoratives at us, but I guess that's ok. so much for civil discourse.

It's funny, I received a bit of reflexive hate for consistently disparaging Hillary from the gang of Clinton apologist.

I didn't make a habit of saying that I preferred Bernie but I usually pointed out that she was better than Trump.

In the end, the Clinton's have done more damage to this country than almost any other single family in US history. Their arrogance and conniving nature sealed the election for Bush and Trump. Imagine the cumulative carnage of these two presidencies when it's all said and done.

I expect Republican candidates and voters to be exactly how they are so engagement with these people is wasted energy, but to think that some people who share my politics torpedoed Bernie and accepted Hillary's crass political maneuvers- amazing...

Bullsh#t, Ron, Chief and a lot of the others (esco) included started the name calling with me. One of their favorites is Bob Duh.

To tell the truth I don't want to know or try to debate those that deny science and factual information.

What is more amazing is how you & Esco got it all figured out.You got into your fair share of pissing matches here. Look in the mirror DMT, you are the master of backhanded insults along with the ones you defend.

He knows he's full of sh#t. Anyone, myself included, who tried to advance any discussion about a course under sail that's different from the status quo (liberal or conservative) got summarily panned and I just happen to enjoy rubbing their nose in the hypocrisy rather than fading into the back of the echo chamber.

The real revelation is that it absolutely is US AND THEM. There is no going back and the divide will deepen - the only thing at stake is the speed at which the chasm opens. When both sides are fighting over who's brand of statism is the best, freedom dies. And the last few presidents have advanced that reality in ways that never could have been imagined from the whistle blowing of citizen 4 to the military industrial complex that extends to every corner of the globe.

So, forgive me if I don't care to engage in conversation with the likes of Bob Du'h or 10b4tard They can't be honest with themselves so why would I expect it?

DMT-
My opinion there is no sharing when it comes to partisan politics. They very idea of it is the antithesis of partisanship.

The verbose Clinton supporters accepted the brand from the start. Inflexible in fact as well as thought. And you see how they behaved when their gal lost; deplorable indeed.

You're right, I wasn't very specific. I would quantify "my politics" in general- A sense of Empathy, honor, courage and transparency.

Wrapping this up in a package and applying it to a political party is antithetical and beyond that, these traits are automatically disqualifying in the party of Ayn Rand, as seen in the purging of Republican Moderates over the last three decades.

It's all the more reason for environmentalist, wage earners and progressives to demand such from the only party that has a substantial voice in opposition. In other words, reform the party we have and make it palatable to moralists from differing views. Clinton was not that, Bernie was.
