Please support Scott Stowe, former Yosemite rock climbing guide and former elite Yosemite search and rescue. Earlier this month Scott suffered a stroke and cerebral hemorrhaging. He is currently in a hospital in Modesto where doctors are saying that a full recovery is possible, but the road may be a long one.
Scott is the father of two amazing daughters, Lundy and Whitney, with whom he climbed El Capitan's Zodiac route with Steve Gerberding. Over the years he has shown them the love of Yosemite and the mountains.
Scott's climbing accomplishments are numerous and include first ascents on El Capitan. He has climbed "the Big Stone" more than 70 times and has guided El Capitan more than 15 times, placing him amongst an elite few in the climbing world.
Scott is also held in high esteem amongst the community for bieng a loving father, a dedicated friend, as well as an accomplished big wall climber.
Your love and support in any fashion is greatly appreciated.

Oh no, this is bad news. I've known Scott for over 30 years and he has a terrific ability to recover from injuries and setbacks.
I'll have to visit him next week when I head to Yosemite.
Get well soon Scott.

I've run into Scott around the Valley as he guided, great guy and a very laid back but enthusiastic person.
My best wishes go out to him and his family for a full recovery and return.

A kind person each time I've talked with him. Admired the solid dad and family-man qualities on evident display when we met him one quiet winter afternoon on top of Manure Pile.
Contributed, and sending well wishes for a fast and full recovery.

This is horrible news. Scott was a fixture of Valley climbing for 30 years. Always a nice guy and the quiet type not to get into disputes. A big solid guy like him can make a recovery. A full one I think. Scott you will be in my thoughts daily. Get better, you can do it.
