I am sorry to hear about this. While I do not live close, I would be happy to pay him a visit. I have enjoyed climbing with Steve on a few occasions and have always thought highly of him and his humble, casual demeanor. Get well soon my friend.

Hearing that his face lit up when he saw his friend is good news. Thanks for letting us know and best wishes for the days ahead.

I just can't believe this. Michael and I are stunned.

It's really too much to take in.

He will heal. He's as tough as they come.

Wow, this is hard to believe and hard to wake up to. Scuffy?

It sound's like you've got some work ahead of you. You'll have a lot of support. Amy will you keep us posted (at least until Steve can keep us posted himself)?

Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant, filled with odd waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like.—Daniel Handler, a.k.a., Limony Snicket

Damn. A series of unfortunate events!

Get well, Steve. And best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery…

Steve,

You're ambulatory, that's great.

Not at all surprised you were wandering the wrecking yard. You knew those backwater places, appreciated them. You once sent me up old rail lines at the foot of Pacific Avenue where there were hidden thickets of marshy life. Knew all the history, matter-of-factly presented.

Your OW monster in the redwoods, down by the creek was a kinetic sculpture. Didn't move, though it kept growing. But we had to get kinetic to appreciate its subtle fiendishness, and you were always encouraging, offering worthy beta like the master you are, while your invited guests flailed and failed, lowered out proud with road rash.

Heal, Man! I'll come around to check on you.

Cheers anyway,
Doug

He was found alone, wandering around the Santa Cruz Wrecking Co.

Was he looking for car parts and is his car still parked there?

Wow so terrible.

I do hope he recovers well, he's a very nice man ......
