I didn't vote for Trump...and I'll probably be deeply disappointed by his time in office...but I will give the guy a chance.
It would be nice if weren't at each other's throats for the next four years..the wheel keeps turning.

Most people don't want onerously expensive healthcare (irrespective of whether it is paid by the private or public purse). Most people want a decent job. Most people want decent education for their, and the neighbor's, kids. Most people don't want to live in fear of criminals, and idiots mistakenly shooting people.
And until most people realize none of those things are the responsibility of the government to provide, we will continue down the garden path.
Case in point, in other news Yale professors are offering Mid-Term Tests as optional due to the "emotional stress" from the elections. Isn't that nice?

The under 300,000 popular vote difference
basically came from 3 places that had
a YUUGE Democrat percentage win.
You're saying we shouldn't count votes from California and New York?

....On balance, tens of millions of free-voting people want to be represented and guided by people who they respect for their virtues.....
Dude, you gotta wake up to reality.
There's nobody.... I mean nobody... who'd want that job who'd you might "respect for their virtues".
I'll settle for "is not totally evil". Maybe someone who hasn't murdered nations. (yet).

The people did not vote him in. Hillary won the popular vote. The majority of the people voted for her. She won the election.
He slimed in on a technicality, like what he does with his taxes.
Truly, the system was rigged, by design, and its out in the open for us all to se it.
Thus
NO MANDATE !!! This cannot be emphasized enough!
Marx almost predicted it;
The dictatorship of the proletariat, by the hillbillies.

Mandate my ass! You call LESS than half the popular vote a mandate? Get a f*#king grip.
The man who has mainstreamed hate, fear and xenophobia has a mandate?
Traffic and chatter on white nationalist and neo nazi sites and twitter is up.
He drives fear with dog whistle words like "law and order" which is an old language which means inner city and mass oppression and incarcerations.
The poor downtrodden white working class feels beatdown? The race of people that perpetrated genocides against American Indians, upheld slavery, lynched blacks etc. now feels beat down by people demanding their rights?
I will afford Mr. Trump all the respect and decorum that he and his supporters gave President Obama, which is exactly ZERO!

The Trumpy celebration is much like the scene from Planet of The Apes where Heston gets snagged in the net and the apes go crazy shaking their rifles and beating their chests...The electoral college and chimps have won...

Trump is the dog chasing the car that finally caught it. Since he is basically a con man with no governmental or public service experience, I'm afraid even his supporters are going to be disappointed. The voters sent a pretty clear message about their distaste for the political elite (supported by the financial elite), but sometimes decisions made in anger and fear come back to haunt you.
I hope I am wrong for the sake of the country.

The Loathsome Duck, Madbolter, DMT, he belongs to you. You made him.
No, YOU made him. And your inability to recognize that blind spot opened the door for the likes of flophair.
Let's see what we can expect out of a Drumph presidency:
1. More morality legislated? Check
2. More government jobs created than eliminated? Check
3. Not a single piece of gun control legislation repealed? Check
4. Further enabling of the militarization of police? Check
5. More government managed healthcare? Check
6. Increased use of the military industrial complex? Check
7. Public debt increased? Check
So, tell me again how that's different from what your man Obeezy and the rest of the clowns in office have done the past, say, 25 to 50 years?

GCF, nice list. Troubling but likely a decent road map.
Flop hair. I like it, though I don't think the country created his supporters. The Repubs do some, by pretending to support them while really beholden to industry and their lobbiests. Total knife in the back stuff. Also, there are many who are simply stuck in the past and refuse to move forward. Nothing much can be done to help them. Over time they will understand the world has progressed past their limited views, but this election was the result of their collective grasp to keep it.

And again if you hate whitey and this country then head to a black ruled paradise like Liberia or Zimbabwe. Then tell us how bad whitey is

The Trumpy celebration is much like the scene from Planet of The Apes
And then there's the pathetic whining by the losers.
How 'bout those protests???
Let's tell the World we're a bunch of crybaby sore losers!
So it begins: American college campuses are currently experiencing a collective freak-out over the impending Trump presidency. Professors and administrators have cancelled exams and sent messages of support to students feeling traumatized by the election results.
A University of Michigan psychology professor delayed an exam until next week and wished students good fortune during this "tumultuous time." Some Columbia University professors postponed midterms as well. A University of Connecticut professor excused students from attending class. And at Yale University, one professor decided to make an upcoming exam optional.
Administrators were quick to reassure students that universities offer myriad counseling options.
Oh my.
