Hey el stupido!

No money from the foundation goes the Clinton's

So they could give it a billion dollars and the Clinton's get Nothing!

so there is No Conflict of Interest
Zero

Let's open our minds a bit. I suspect that "Clinton Foundation" exists for multiple motivations. Do good things in the world? Definitely. Most people want to do good if they have the chance to do it. Bring prestige upon the family name? Sure, why not? Most folks who are competitive or successful by some measure in the world want to be recognized for what they do. People care about the legacy they leave behind.

It seems the Clinton's have reached a level where they don't need more money to satisfy any material want in this world. A cash donation to them directly is not their biggest motivator. But lots of donations to their charitable organization, which can do more good things in the world and elevate the legacy and status of the Clinton name, that is a powerful bargaining chip.

So yes, I do think large domestic and foreign investments into this fund, even if they don't directly give financial benefit to the Clintons, it is something that should be CLOSELY scrutinized. I'm not prepared to say it should be completely outlawed, because a lot of good can come from it. But I'm not prepared to close my eyes and say "nothing to see here folks."

A branded charity might be seen as a win/win: give more prestige to the brand name (win), extract more money from certain associates for charitable causes (win), and get that money to organizations that can do good with it (win). Everything in politics is a transaction: you give me this, I give you that. Look at the budgeting process and spending bills. In the scheme of things, is this type of give/take for charities and name recognition/legacy such a bad thing? I guess it depends.

It's not inherently bad, but if say Goldman-Sacks gave $10M to a charity to avoid a $1B liability to it's customers through manipulation of a law... then HELL YES that charity is being used for evil. So it needs to be scrutinized and laws should be changed to dramatically increase transparency.

So I say full transparency (complete transaction-level detail of income: amount, date, source) or shut it down.

A final complication: almost certainly some ugly stuff would come out that would further impact the disapproval ratings for Hillary. But given our choices for the present election, I still see that as a lesser evil. Trump does not have any higher moral ground than Hillary, and he certainly has less political experience, less inclination to look for public good while benefiting himself, and less ability to control himself for managing relationships.

“If she gets to pick her judges — nothing you can do, folks. Although, the Second Amendment people. Maybe there is. I don’t know.”

Dana Milbank: How Trump winks at political violence
“There was a time when fantasizing aloud about the murder of your opponent would have been beyond the pale — but not anymore.”

Don't worry, the Trump backers have their own solutions to gov't in mind. They celebrate John Hinkley as their idol, taking action against the real problem of America, the Gov't, as Ronald Reagan told us.

For years, Republicans managed an exceptional acrobatic act: to mobilize right-wing populist anger and white working-class voters behind a program whose benefits flowed to the economic elites.

The operation was supported by large expenditures from the very rich.

The assumption was always that the base would get the noise and the elites would get the policy.

He is threatening to sue the New York Times for its story quoting two of the women, and his lawyers are charging the paper with recklessly providing those out to smear Trump with “a platform.”

It’s almost as if Donald Trump thinks you are too stupid to remember that only a few days ago, he literally tried to provide a platform for Bill Clinton’s accusers, when he attempted to parade them into his family box at Sunday’s debate, in hopes of creating a great confrontation before an audience of tens of millions, only to see his plot thwarted by the debate organizers.

“You are a disgusting human being,” he told the reporter as she questioned him about the women’s claims.

But, as the Post notes, there is plenty of evidence that these women told other people of the episodes long before the sex tape came to light. And of course, Trump himself admitted to such behavior in his own words, captured on that tape.

it's not scary to me

It's scary that there are idiots that would say such a thing on a forum

that's why we have to make sure who we elect is not a idiot like Trump

you give them power and they turn into monsters that would consider killing off the undesirables

just like Hitler, he was just a regular moron, but you give him unlimited power and his personality changes into a monster that wants more power and Revenge against his opponants

Ahhhh you strike upon an important point. Hitler was indeed a regular moron. Average intelligence, addicted to various mind-altering substances. Mein Kampf was nothing notable. A boring read. Was he really a mythical monster? Where does the blame really lie?

Ask yourself where the billions upon billions of dollars magically came from that supported Hitler. Think of the infrastructure required just in shear millions of tons of materials to build his Western "wall".

These 'leaders' are mouthpieces. The power structure behind them is what matters and will not go silently into the night based on some silly election.

Yes, nah000, let us hope.

...

edit, typo?

point being i'll be shocked if in my lifetime most countries [minus possibly the u.s. - and that is only because i don't see the philosophy of personal and collective violence based empire ending anytime soon] will have [have not] instituted a basic income.

maybe?

The 1 percent will always rise to the top guys under any system.

Had you been reading "Dilbert" last week? As my fellow Berkeley grad's character noted, if you always file the bottom 10%, pretty soon, you fire everyone.

Yeah Dingus, I'm tired of the royal families too. Too many Bushs, too many Clintons, and Michele would be an Obama too much. Let's hope Hillary is a single term president and that some new blood rises to the top. They're also too old. Hillary is what, 68? And Trump is 70 and sort of a fat f*#k, despite what his 'doctor' says.

We'll survive Hillary, probably get some decent Supreme Court judges out of the deal and hopefully have some new people run in 2020. Just no Cruz please.

Which only proves what a moron you are. Your extremist comments just show the ignorance you have about these things. And I don't want to hear about your Mensa crap. Means nothing to me. Your supposed intelligence just shows me that self-described "smart" people can be the dumbest on the planet.

Must have struck a nerve with poor intellectually illiterate Jody. Hey Jody, why does Jesus want Hillary to be president?

No dynasty bullshit here move along.
How soon the Bush dynasty is forgotten.

Let's not forget that Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy were assassinated and the attempt on Reagan.
The Trump rabble is certainly capable of housing more than a few potential assassins. Every time Trump calls Hillary crooked or treasonous he stokes those fires. Much as radical Right Wing media has been doing with Hillary and Obama for more than 8 years. It may take a long time for the inflammation to subside.
And any dammed fool can buy an assault rifle in many states.

After FiveThirtyEight published maps showing the electoral college results if only men came out to vote, and if only women came out to vote, a new hashtag started to trend on Twitter: #repealthe19th. That's the 19th Amendment, the amendment that granted women the right to vote.

Trump supporters — the majority of whom are men — figured that might be as good an option as any to ensure victory for their candidate.

Trump's problem isn't that women vote. Trump's problem is that he has not been able to persuade women to vote for him

This is VERY revealing! Women don't vote for them, so take their vote away!

This has been the Repug strategy with blacks, latinos, students FOR DECADES.
The ONLY reason that there won't be a sweep of Congress this year, are all the gerrymandered districts controlled by Repugs. They've bought time.

But I don't think women are going to stand for this.
