The Post’s Ellen Nakashima reported Monday night that Russian hackers have also been targeting state voter-registration systems. And, in an apparent effort to boost Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, they’re leaking what they believe to be the most damaging documents at strategic points in the campaign.

Last week, we learned something else: The Russians aren’t just hackers — they’re also hacks. Turns out that before leaking their stolen information, they are in some cases doctoring the documents, making edits that add false information and then passing the documents off as the originals.

Foreign Policy’s Elias Groll reported last week that the hackers goofed: They posted both the original versions of at least three documents and their edited versions. These documents, stolen from George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, were altered by the hackers to create the false impression that Russian anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny was funded by Soros. A pro-Russian hacking group, CyberBerkut, had inserted Navalny’s name, bogus dollar amounts and fabricated wording.

This raises an intriguing possibility: Are Vladimir Putin’s operatives planning to dump edited DNC documents on the eve of the presidential election?

There are 68 in Cali. Number #2 only to Texas!!

Hey Spuds (I hope you don't mind me calling you that, I do it with affection).

Of course, come on, what hitting close to 39 million people (a small nation, larger than New Zealand or Japan in size but smaller than the latter in people), of course California is going to have its share of nutcases.

EDIT
Escopeta, have a heart and pity on those of us with a small download speed (like The Donald), that is not loading fast enough (I am referring to the video). Dang, is Donald really that hard? (I'll have to wait for the video to load, in the meantime, I have a nose to mine).

Hey New World Order conspiratorists, doesn't the thought of a Putin-Trump partnership kind of make you wonder?

This raises an intriguing possibility: Are Vladimir Putin’s operatives planning to dump edited DNC documents on the eve of the presidential election?

One never knows… until the shite hits the fan, or between the eyes.

Folks, I do a lot of research, I try to cover all sides, I try to be objective, I try to look at all viewpoints, even the radical ones, I try to put myself in other people's shoes. I try, whether I succeed or not…

EDIT
I am having fun on this thread and the sad thing is, the whole thing is not a joke or laughing matter.

The Donald could become POTUS, and being cozy with Putin (the facts are there, look them up, I have a large lawn to mow today), is this the New World Order?

Dang, now I am a conspiracy freak.

ANOTHER EDIT

And if any of you are tech/web savvy, help me with Health Horizons. It is two-fold, the first, health-horizons.info, is a social enterprise to address the issue of dementia (Alzhemier's is just one of many). It will not make money, but hopefully will float.

The second health-horizons.org, .eu, .ie, .pet (yeah, I have to learn WordPress and Pic Monkey fast) will hopefully make some money and employ some people.

I hate that word dementia, and what it implies, demented. But it is the "le mot jus" or something like that. People suffering from any form of dementia are not demented. The Donald may be an exception (trying to keep this thread based, hah hah).

I am graduating from the UCD Innovation Academy with a postgrad cert in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise (for my Masters). Meeting with Wexford Local Development next week to further my plans for a business*, and hoping to get on the New Frontiers programme with Enterprise Ireland.

Some of my fellow Taco Standers have businesses. It is tough. Of the 30 in my course at UCD, at the end about half decided not to start a biz but "just want a job".

Russ and others, you run a business. Sure I have launched magazines (in three countries), but I could use any advice. Perhaps this belongs on another thread, but I do not want to face bankruptcy like The Donald. (See, I am trying to keep it "thread topic". Now to find a climbing angle, then it is complete.)

* There is age discrimination, here in Ireland and in California. Last year a former editor in Dublin told me: "Patrick, nobody in Wexford is going to hire a 59-year-old journalist. Not even in Dublin." (I took myself out of the 'game' to be Jennie's full-time carer, 24/7 for over four years, a 'game' difficult to get back into, with a lot of young, talented kids out there, chomping at the bit to be the next great journalist, if there is such a thing.)

I am 60 now.

My dear late mother, degree in 1942, walked into work on her 72nd birthday, wanting to work, she had a great work ethic (West Virginians do). Naismith Dental Group, Oakland (with offices in San Francisco and Concord). After my dad died (I was five months old, she had three others up to 12) she decided to work for somebody else, as running a practice was not on.

So after 26 years, she walks in on her 72nd birthday to find that her patients have been given to other colleagues. She goes to Dr Naismith. "Liz, don't you know it says in your contract, mandatory retirement at 72." (He was 79, why didn't he retire?)

She went to the California State Board of Employment (Equalization or whatever it is called now). She did not get reinstated, but a year's salary.

There is ageism out there and my best bet is to start my own company… 60 is young nowadays.

And I do not want The Donald's help, it would be a hindrance. He specializes in bankruptcy and coming out smelling like a rose, while screwing shareholders and other stakeholders (contractors etc). I do not need that.

Don't be too sure Dingus. I would think that some sort of espionage/counterespionage is going on by all sides. So do I believe our spies over their spies? Not a chance, but it is a New World, and cybertechnology is the kingpin at the moment.

The only ones I trust are Aggie the dog and Betty the cat.

I don't know Dingus, if the following is true, then it sure looks pro-Russian to me:

But then again, perhaps those clever American spies are playing both sides (and they really want The Donald to win).

Lorenzo, that is NOT breaking news. That little bitch (well, what else do you call a female dog), I had bought a nice rib-eye steak for my Christmas dinner (last Christmas), I put it on the table, went to the loo, came back and…

… and commended her on her cheekiness (though I wanted to kill her, but I bit my tongue, so to speak), and I ate a ham and cheese sandwich for Christmas. (EDIT can you blame Aggie? No. She must have thought, "Dad left this nice Christmas steak for me on the coffee table" - that's where I eat, the dining room table is just for looks - "and he left it just for me, yum yum".)

And no, it was not a Trump Steak (if it was, Aggie would have the sense not to eat it, pewww, who would eat, or even buy, a Trump Steak, idiots I suppose).

Cookies are nothing.

Try some Trump Bull

The real "Russians" are likely bright enough to realize the fix is already in.

I do enjoy the great attempt to demonize Russia again. Reminds me of simpler times during the 1980's when I watched Teevee.

A con man, a grifter, a serial bankrptcy-filer, a fraud. A publicity-hound, a narcissist, a thief with Other People's Money. A 21ist Century P.T. Barnum: "there's a sucker born any minute." How stupid ca his supporters be? How much do they want to be fooled?

Myles, would it help to understand that his supporters do not *want* a functioning Federal government? If you wanted to paralyze the Federal government, but feared that even the Obstructionists you voted into Congress might get wobbly and pass some legislation other than a Defense bill, why wouldn't you support Trump as the ultimate disaster POTUS? They KNOW he'd be a terrible POTUS.

That's the point.

My argument was merely rhetorical. What they want is a wall, a "Christian nation," white supremacy, ahistorcal, unconstiutional view of U.S. government, history and place in the world, magical thinking, and a reality-show president.
What IS amazing is that 40% of those polled support these things!

A photo above showing a gun to Trump's head is sick. Day by day, all of us are becoming sick.

How so?

When I was very young I used to help butcher cattle, a horse, many hogs, goats, and chickens.
My father tied the head of one cow I had milked and cared for for years, down low to a post and
then blew her brains out with a twelve gauge. He remarked that on a farm we have to do these
things. Even before her kicking had stopped he drove a butcher knife into her throat and first cut
the lower artery, turned the knife over and cut the upper artery. After that began the skinning
during which the cow was gradually lifted by chain falls attached to a spreader bar between her
hocks.

Before he fired the fatal shot all I could think was that what we were about to do

could never be taken back. A life would be ended.

When people without personal experience mindlessly use photos to "celebrate" that instant we
completely ignore the immensity of what is involved. We simply cannot do this without doing
great harm to ourselves.

Think about it.
