I also live in the single party People's Republic of California, where Hillary taking the state is a foregone conclusion.

It's actually a urine bottle. They come from the manufacturer with water so they don't collapse during transport (like the stock market will if he gets elected). I'm waiting for the wag bag to come out. It's either trump's face or a Florida ballot. . . a closely held secret, nobody's talking!

How can any climber possibly consider voting Libertarian when the the LP calls for the abolishment of "...all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution."
That would mean no National Parks, no National Forests, no BLM, and no YOSAR, to name but a tiny few directly related to climbing. I'm sure we all have our beefs with each of these, but do you really think we'd be better without them at all?

Trad Eddie, the answer is simple. That platform requires an act of congress, which will not happen. Both Clinton and Trump have profound flaws that make them unsuitable as President. At least if we elect a climber (i.e. Johnson), we will have a president who needs to compromise to get anything (or any appointment) through congress.
Moreover, party platforms tend to be honored in their breach, even with the Democrats and Republicans. Compare Johnson with Trump or Clinton. He has more experience and a better temperment than Trump (talk about a low bar!), and his straightforward honesty and belief in the Bill of Rights stands in stark contrast to Clinton.
Put a climber in the White House. Vote Johnson/Weld!

The problem with that logic is that you're voting for someone in the hope that he won't be able to implement any of his stated aims. We all realize that our party won't be able to implement all of our aims, but we hope to achieve some, the more, the better.
Shutting down government programs is well within the reach of executive authority, Ted Cruz did it, and he's only a Senator. Johnson would have four years of executive orders before we could do anything.
That's not to say I don't agree strongly with several parts of the LP platform, but the package as a whole is lunacy, and its position on corporate liberty in particular is a sell-out.

Apogee, I certainly understand Johnson's downside, but I find it trivial compared with those of Trump, Clinton, or the Greens. He and Weld have track records as governors, and are running as Libertarians largely to avoid the influence of the social dictators that pollute the Republican party.
If I seem to have unusual enthusiasm, it's because I have immense revulsion contemplating the candidates of either the Democrats or Republicans.

You get to pick one out a total of 2 people
If you were smart, you would always pick the Democratic nominee because the Republicans are a Party of lying serve serving tools only out to make sure their funders get favors.
They are the creators of everything going on bad in this Country at this time, that is a fact. They won't lift a finger to help our economy, or middle class, or any other important issue that needs attention.
The Republicans work hard to screw the middle class, poor and minorities.

John is correct.
All run of mill Republicans with a conscience should vote for Gary Johnson.
and all liberals, green party, progressives, moderates, independents and smart people should vote for Hillary.
If too many people vote for the Green Party, then we will have President Trump.
Don't rely on others to make sure Hillary wins, Don't Waste your Vote on a third Party candidate that will Never Win in 2016.
Even in California, too many idiots could throw this election to Trump, this State is full of blurry headed liberals that are going to waste their vote of the Green Party candidate

i'd have a bit of a black laugh about how that was the point when i no longer trusted lie detectors, as well...
there are so many legitimate things to attack hillary over. that, that's your choice suggests you don't understand how the legal system works, what the job of a defence lawyer is, and/or how humans cope with some of the fUcked up situations that they end up in due to an often absurd world and the human created systems that inhabit it...
