Before yawl get too high and mighty about the highonlife d#@&%ebags - remember that climbers have a rich and varied history of disobeying signs and rules. I'm not saying these guys aren't d#@&%ebags, they may well be (I think more uninformed and unconnected city slickers), just that as climbers we push for the freedom to express ourselves outside, above rules.

If people realized how many have died horrific deaths as a result of the thermal pools in Yellowstone NO ONE would be going any where near them.

^^^^ The wife worked in the NW Regional Burn Center in Seattle and took care of a Jellystone
deep fried person. She was used to the horror but when you go in those pools you're a
100 percenter and there's little hope for more than a painless passing, but that isn't possible.

Death In Yellowstone covers the burn cases in full detail. Absolutely incredible how some people end up in the pools. Signs are posted everywhere and all you have to do is stand on a walkway for 20 minutes to see someone doing something stupid. I guess it is sort of like taking a ride over a falls at Yosemite. Idiots are going to be idiots.

I feel ashamed that the calf thieves are Canadian, but every country has silly tourists doing dumb stuff around the world daily - trying to bring guns into Canada and getting arrested would be the beginning.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the bozos who walked onto Grand Prismatic Spring.
Also, TGR is reporting the following about them, though they seem to mix up BLM and Nat'l Park land. The evidence is being gathered from their own social media posts.

It now appears that this is not the first time the High On Life SundayFundayz crew has violated National Park rules. Two months ago the group posted photos of them water-skiing behind their RV at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats after a rain event. The area is protected by the 1985 Area of Critical Environmental Concern Act, which states people refrain from driving on the flats when it is wet, as cars can cause permanent damage the area.
In addition, other photos appear to show them flying drones in Arches National Park and Zion National Parks. A Bureau of Land Management spokesman told Salt Lake City's FOX 13 it was investigating if any crimes were committed on the Salt Flats,

Theses self-absorbed narcissistic attention whores from "High on Life" are emblematic of the selfie/youtube crowd. Their "apology" is a feeble self serving attempt to save face for their “brand”. The only thing they appear to be remorseful of is getting called out on their d#@&%ebaggery. I admit my first reaction is wanting to see their heads on selfie sticks above the Roosevelt Arch as a warning to those who would do harm to our beloved park.
Some of the outrage may be over the top, boiling them in the geysers or feeding them to the bears certainly isn't the answer. The cybermob that descended on these clowns is a sight to behold, but is it fair?
A single lapse of judgement in one park, I would agree it to be over the top. The trail of disrespect is much longer though. Among their offenses flying drones in several National Parks, tearing up the salt flats in Utah, swinging off of Corona Arch (post ban), laughing about being lectured repeatedly by rangers at Machu Picchu for being off trail, and the ugliest of all, joking around on the walls of the Holocaust Museum in Berlin.
The cyber lynching they are getting is well deserved. It may even mean they have to get real jobs.
I think these tools are simply the perfect poster children for making an example out of. They just happened to fvck up at the crown jewel of our National Parks at the wrong (right?) time. The way they have monetized social media to build their brand/careers is the same tool that has brought them down. How they survive this is now in their hands. First off they need to accept responsibility for their actions. A call to the US Magistrate in Mammoth to account for their warrants would be a good first step. Hopefully they can leverage their eventual convictions to raise awareness to their massive social media following. That would be the best outcome for them.

The bison calf story and the others mentioned seem to be two different categories.
The bison calf did not become habituated to humans in one encounter. I can think of two possibilities:
1) It had been abandoned by the group and started mixing with dumb humans.
or
2) For some reasons we don't know it started mixing with various humans and then was abandoned by the group.
In either case, away from his homies, he had a good chance of perishing.
So these folks, stupidly, tried to rescue (not kidnap) it.
Dumb, yeah, but I'm thinking well-intentioned.
The other morons are in another world all their own.

Those animals typically die of starvation or predation.
Why not this time, too? idiots. Where did you dispose of the carcass after you euthanized it? Hopefully the garbage since the animal would be full of toxic chemicals.

God I hate stupid f*#ktards . I'm sick to death of selfish entitled people doing whatever they want for a laugh and a buck. Those high on life asshats are "generously" offering to just give a $5000 "donation" (which is actually the penalty fine ) . They should get the 6 mo jail time IMO and not be allowed to buy their way out.

They willfully broke into the Devils Hole pupfish preserve - a single pool where one of the most endangered fish in the world resides. They shot their way through not one... but two locked gates. Attempted to dismantle security cameras. Took a swim in the pool. Stomped around on the shallow shelf that is the only thing keeping the fish alive. Killed at least one pupfish and likely destroyed a lot of eggs since its breeding season. Left their vomit and some underwear in the pool to boot. Every bit of it was caught on camera.
At one point their names went public... I sincerely hope a pack of rabid crazed animal activists hounds them till the day they die. That... Or just drop them in one of those boiling pools and be done with them before they can breed any more stupid rednecks.

Where did you dispose of the carcass after you euthanized it?
Yellowstone has areas where they dump animal corpses to be taken care of by nature so as to avoid human/predator conflicts. The one I saw was miles out on a service/powerline road only open to the NPS and contractors. In my opinion had this not gotten media attn there would have been no euthanasia as that's just not in line with the NPS policy
