However radioactive materials do produce electromagnetic radiation at specific frequencies. These frequencies are used in detection.

Now somewhere I heard about the radio frequency stuff and international rules.. I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is so I'll backtrack a bit on the "absolutely" on that part but I think I am correct.
