You too guyman, but I think you're trying to trick us. Your "two views of the same cliff" look a lot more like black rock dome than kings canyon.

Amazing pics, I have a bit of dome envy...just seeing what is out there in my backyard in CA is mind blowing. China looks incredible too. No one mention Calaveras yet? I don't have any good photos, but that's a substantial one.

I don't know, Shylock, all I'm seeing are domes I posted and some pointy Castle Rocks. But it is nice to see Tom's dome.

This thread can't have too many pictures of Balloon Dome, that thing is beautiful!

^^^^ Sierra Ledge Rat: I think those would be considered Inselbergs (literally "island mountain") not domes

here's one (granite exfoliation dome) that escaped Cali and made its way to Texas, Enchanted Rock near Llano (not my photos)



here's one that looks like a dome Ayers (aka Uluru) rock but is composed of sandstone and is considered an Inselberg
