I had to wait a lifetime and pay big cash for waves like that on a Mentawais boat trip on Quicksilver II.

In the near future, kids in hot, inland valleys will pay a few bucks like it's an amusement ride.

Anyone remember September Sessions?

The feeling I got when I watched the video this morning...I was out of my skin.
To see the wave, to see kelly that stoked...
I've gotten barreled. I've gotten really f*#king barreled. But that amount of tube time on one wave- 10secs, a few hacks, 15 more secs.... That's more than most people get in a lifetime.

For those of you not familiar, take a look at the other man made waves like the one in Dubai, which used to be cutting edge, or the new Wave Garden which uses the new technology to create a way better, longer rippable wave. Then look at Kelly's. Holy sh¡t. If you're a surfer that affects you in a primal way.

Being an Arizona guy, my Rick Kane dream is alive!

I'm not a surfer, but I know radical when I see it. That is rad!

Innovative too. That water looks the same as San Joaquin River Delta water up here in the Bay Area.

Amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it. Very cool.

That's freakin awesome! It sounds like they can switch the break as well, which is even cooler.
I do have a feeling of ...its toooo perfect. The sh#t ;) that will be done on that wave will advance surfing big time in the sk8 tricks dept.
Wave Garden ..

This will progress the sport to the next level for sure, at least the airs.... In the same way the half pipe took snowboarding from nada to the most watched winter olympic event.

Maybe they will use it at the 2020 Tokyo olympics as a demonstration sport.

My 2 cents, build them everywhere so less people are sitting in our lineups, just me and the uncles and aunties will be perfect...

Yes.

Give the n00bish wannabees a place of their own - and give them the activity-avoiding social scene they prefer.

Surfing is (was) the one board sport that you really couldn't simulate.

In order to get good you had to take your lumps from 'Ma Ocean and it likely also taught you meteorology, hydrodynamics, and if from Socal probably made you a good fighter.

This will change surfing forever at the elite level the same way the motorcycle foam pit did for the Nitro Circus types

Slater is going to kill it, soon you'll see "surf resorts" complete with Hotel .bar, gift shop.board rental.spa in Topeka, cleveland, and other bumf*#k locations. Looks fun ,how much will it cost?

As a skier I don't quite understand such short runs.. as a swimmer and explorer I don't quite understand missing all the really cool stuff underneath the waves.
