Hi all climbing community!

It's great to see this Forum to be so much alive :)

I thought it would be nice to share with you our (mine - Valentina, nice to meet you! - and my two friends Anna and Tamsin) new project that goes under the name of Vertical Souls.

The three of us have started climbing more or less a couple of years ago and we got so much into it that we totally can't stop looking for new adventures, new routes, new peaks. :) I know most of you will know what I'm talking about ;)

Recently we got to know more people in the amazing climbing community around the UK and all of these wonderful and highly experienced climbers have been very happy to share with us their experience and teach us something. Therefore we thought "Why don't we try and share what we learn during our journey with others?"

And at that point we committed to the Vertical Souls project.

Just to make it clear in advance, our aim is not to teach but to give an introduction on the many things we got to learn so far (and hopefully we will learn in the future) and share our passion and excitment with all the newbies out there. Also being 3 women we want to be of inspiration for a bit of "girl power" :)

You can check out our channel here (and maybe show us your support subscribing it? ;) ): Vertical Souls

We touch various topics, from stretching to climbing techniques, from cooking food for the crag to injuries management (based on our own experience, ouch :/ ) and we also have a VLog to make you laugh a bit with our adventures :)

The reason of this post is also to get feedbacks and suggestions from all of you who want to give us a hand :) Thank you in advance!

Thanks for reading this and for your support :)

Was going to write this thread off as spam until I found the figure 8 video. Do you plan to make an advanced video. Maybe some tips on how to untie the figure 8? How about filming it with a GoPro on your head and dub over some really awful music.

Thanks Vertical Souls for showing me how to make a figure eight knot.

Have I been doing it wrong?

I probably been using the Slip Knot unknowingly .....

LOL ^^^

In other videos on the site, they show a person hanging on a single piece of gear for a anchor saying it's good to go, then in the next video they talk about--- never set up a belay anchor with only one piece of pro, it's not SERENE or Redundant. LOL Silly Stuff.

They are apparently too busy climbing and trying to build traffic that they know not what they just walked into. Be nice.

Wow, I've always thought climbing community was quite open minded but it seems that free critisism is everywhere :) ...

Yes, we do explain how to tie a figure of eight. When we started climbing we didn't even know what it was and so does probably the majority of beginners. We don't show completely how to do the knot because we want to avoid people copying it and making mistakes (although it's plenty of tutorials on Youtube). I'm sorry if the video results offensive towards all the experienced climbers up here.

We are just trying to share as it's common practice among old school climbers. People are happy to share and support.

Thank you for your feedbacks though, they will be reviewed and taken in consideration. There is always something to learn. :)

P.s.With regards to the anchor point, if you carefully watch the video it says clearly that the one I'm sitting on is a static point and we were talking about the points system. Have you ever buit a trad anchor using a sling and a tree for example? We don't want to teach anything to anybody, just give an introduction on things to learn (that we are learning).

Thank you Scrubbing Bubbles. Much appreciated. :)

We actually value a lot also negative feedbacks. We will seriously rethink about the videos and the content and try to make it more catchy also for all the grumpy climbers.
