the misguided hatred of law enforcement in general has led to open season on police officers

Is there hatred of law enforcement?
If there is, is it misguided?
Similarly if there is, is it general or specific?
If any of these is true, is there any evidence that it has led to open season?
Just what does open season include?
If open season implies a license to kill cops, then why aren't there more dead ones?

Gunman walks up to Las Vegas cops, starts shooting into car. Sure hope it isn't that 7-11 shooter from Texas.

Police in Las Vegas had an unidentified man in custody on Sunday after he allegedly walked up to a pair of officers sitting at a stop light early Sunday afternoon and began firing into their marked SUV.

The alleged shooter, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, fired "multiple rounds" into the vehicle and struck one officer in the hand, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Sgt. John Sheahan said.

The injured officer's partner chased the suspect and caught him in the parking lot of a nearby 7-11 convenience store, Sheahan said. The officers didn't fire any shots, but the assailant's gun was recovered.

The alleged shooter, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, fired "multiple rounds" into the vehicle and struck one officer in the hand, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Sgt. John Sheahan said.

"These officers are going out there and being attacked while they are sitting in a police car, and we didn't fire a single shot back at him," he told CNN affiliate KSNV.

McMahill said his department has changed the way it deploys officers, sending out two-officer units "because of the narrative of violence against police across the country."

"We are certainly working on pins and needles," he told KSNV. "(That is) part of the reason we doubled them up. So we have two officers available immediately whenever an incident occurs."

MEXICO CITY — An international committee of experts reviewing the case of 43 missing college students whose disappearance last fall traumatized Mexico said Sunday that there was no evidence to support the government’s conclusion that the students were executed by a drug gang that then burned the bodies to ashes in a garbage dump.

Not only did physical evidence contradict the government’s version of what happened to the students, but the review showed that federal police and soldiers knew that the students were being attacked by the municipal police and failed to intervene.

Sorry I missed you then. We'd crossed somewhere out west because we had headed to Lover's Leap at the same time.

Next time one of us is in the same state, let's get it done. It's always fun and always hilarious! Lots of new material to crack up about. :)

Were any of these cop killers abused Catholic childen?

GENEVA -- The Vatican revealed Tuesday that over the past decade, it has defrocked 848 priests who raped or molested children and sanctioned another 2,572 with lesser penalties, providing the first ever breakdown of how it handled the more than 3,400 cases of abuse reported to the Holy See since 2004.

What is the incidence of homosexual rape in the U.S. Navy (excluding of course pillow fights)?

Well, more than 50% of reported rapes are male on male. The current rate is 38 per day.

Maybe the most telling thing bout this thread is the us vs them attitude of both parties. I think 'merica is a bit exceptional in that way. They're all just people right? Both sides have their share of sociopaths.

But seriously, it seems that police are viewed differently in other countries. It isn't the only factor I'm sure, but if you pull someone over and have to worry about getting shot in the the face, it kind of changes your interactions with people. Likewise, if you have to worry about being pulled over and... Undeniably, blacks have been singled out by some police officers and police forces (in this century too).

Go to Spain, call the Cops (in most cases the Guardia will respond) and this is the typical individuals that you will encounter when they respond. Response time is usually in single digit minutes.

And the Guardia, they do not like ... Americano's. And they do have a long historical reputation for shooting first and asking questions later. Especially at anyone that attempts to enter Spain illegally.

You resist or show any disrespect towards them in any fashion, you will get your ass thoroughly beat and maybe shot. Dead.

Good Question...

Not to throw water on the fire...
but the one time I got pulled over in Spain (for speeding) they waved me to the side, said I was speeding and wrote me a ticket which I paid on the spot-100 Euro (yeah I got a receipt:-).
Only saw each officer ( yes Guardia) with a sidearm which remained in the holster, no face masks but there were some smiles.
Sucked I had to pay for only doing 15km over the speed limit, but that wasn't their fault.

okay carry on with the happy idiocy...
