Nate Silver always has some interesting ways of looking at elections.

One of the current ones is the "Endorsement Primary", in which one looks at important endorsements as a predictor of who will be supported by the party.

In presidential primaries, endorsements have been among the best predictors of which candidates will succeed and which will fail.

Interesting to see the current numbers in the Repub party, particularly compared with the Dems:

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-endorsement-primary/

Before any votes are cast, presidential candidates compete for the support of influential members of their party, especially elected officials like U.S. representatives, senators and governors. During the period known as the “invisible primary,” these “party elites” seek to coalesce around the candidates they find most acceptable as their party’s nominee. Over the past few decades, when these elites have reached a consensus on the best candidate, rank-and-file voters have usually followed.

Palin as his energy secretary.
I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind’s use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations,

What a thoughtful god...

Secrets of the right-wing brain: New study proves it — conservatives see a different, hostile world

Phony WMD, Benghazi, birthers, truthers -- turns out there's a scientific explanation for deniers and Tea Partyers,

http://www.salon.com/2014/07/29/secrets_of_the_right_wing_brain_new_study_proves_it_conservatives_see_a_different_hostile_world/

Conservative fears of nonexistent or overblown boogeymen — Saddam’s WMD, Shariah law, voter fraud, Obama’s radical anti-colonial mind-set, Benghazi, etc. — make it hard not to see conservatism’s prudent risk avoidance as having morphed into a state of near permanent paranoia, especially fueled by recurrent “moral panics,” a sociological phenomenon in which a group of “social entrepreneurs” whips up hysterical fears over a group of relatively powerless “folk devils” who are supposedly threatening the whole social order. Given that conservatism seems to be part of human nature — just as liberalism is — we’re going to need all the help we can get in figuring out how to live with it, without being dominated, controlled and crippled by it.

Consider the recent wave of hysteria over Central American children turning themselves in at the border. There were the hordes of angry demonstrators protesting busloads of children, like it was Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957. There was the congressman/doctor Phil Gingrey’s warning letter to the CDC, claiming that the children might be carrying the Ebola virus — a disease unknown outside Sub-Saharan Africa. There was the ludicrous myth of the “$50 million illegal alien resort spa.” But above all there was the most basic, fundamental fact that the children were turning themselves in at the border — there was no failure of border protection, although that’s what the right-wing hysteria portrayed it as.

Oh these poor little fearful cowards, controlled by fear to vote for corrupt conservatives that promote more fear and claim they will do something to coddle their fears.
And most all of it is based on lies, propaganda and paranoia...

There is no Border crisis, It's all BS, the crisis is how the immigrants are treated in our jails. The net Mexican immigration level is ZERO, meaning the same amount of people leave as enter.

It's pretty pathetic that we have such a large population of these cowards.

It's just another example of the power of media, it dictates what a certain group of people will believe no matter what the truth may be.

Trump could win the nomination. Most Republicans believe his nonsense. They live in a fact free, Fox-fed reality of rage and resentment. Barack Obama, the socialist Muslim, stole their country and they want it back.

But yes, he has touched that nerve and made it scream a loud, ugly scream.

I don't discount the pain these mostly older and mostly white angry people feel. It is real. They do believe they are losing or have lost their country, and they do want to "take it back" and "make America great again." But take it back from whom? Who has actually "taken" their country?

I don't doubt they are hurting. They may feel they have lost jobs or opportunities to the immigrant population, or that their children or grandchildren will.

Those are hard facts to accept. But that is the new reality, and yelling at people to go back to where they came from or hatching absurd schemes to send 11 million people packing won't change that.

The Republicans destroy the American Government, so the only recourse is to Vote for Rich Republican Outsiders that tell you how f-ed up the government is.

Sounds like hiring pedophiles to take care of your children, because preschools have been known to have abuse problems.
Completely stupid.
Trump nor Carson will do anything to fix America, because they ARE Republicans, Republicans don't fix things, they rig things.
Have none of you learned anything from the last 35 years of Republican Rule.

Lincoln was a liberal
If you read History, you will find that the Democrats back then were the Conservative Party

When talking about Repulicans, we are talking about the Current Republican Party, which is Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Tea Baggers, Neo-cons, etc

When we discuss Parties, it works like this:

Republican/Libertarian = Conservatives, Right Winger
Democratic = Liberal, Progressive, left winger, socialist

Fascist = right wing Nationalistic Authoritarian rule, Gov. and Corps are in cahoots, Trump.
Communist = right wing Authoritarian form of socialism, Gov. controls everything
Socialism = left wing socialized commons, democratic control

Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower were LIBERAL Republicans, FACT

To use this historical reference in such a context is a mistake, and indicates your level of knowledge of politics and history is so lacking that there is no point debating you.

Lincoln was a liberal

Ok...

The individual he ran against was the Democratic Parties nomination.

Stephan A. Douglas

Here is what the Democratic Nominee had to say at one of the debates he had against the Republican Nominee, A. Lincoln....

At Galesburg, Douglas explicitly declared that the Declaration of Independence was not meant to apply to non-whites. He said, "This Government was made by our fathers on the white basis ... made by white men for the benefit of white men and their posterity forever"

Good old Democrat I tell ya....

As I said, the right wing Democrats
back in History The South were right wing racist Democrats, now they are right wing racist Republicans

Is your mind unable too assimilate the facts of HISTORY

do you bother reading before you spew?

Do you have to include insults in every post?

It's very childish.

NO by my logic it was the Northern Dems after Teddy were liberal
The Southern Dems were Right wingers racists

Just forget the words Dems or Repubs before JFK, it all comes down to being either a Liberal or a Conservative

Liberals freed the slaves, the right wing racists in the South (Dems) tried to stop Lincoln and went to war against the Liberal North. fact

Fact. the right wingers have been against granting freedoms since they fear others having the freedom they desire. Women, blacks, gays, latinos, all of these groups have had their freedoms restricted by RIGHT WINGERS.
