There can't be many people anywhere who have been so singularly associated with a particular area. To use the phrase of another Super T poster, his routes and the climbers who visit will keep the Magic alive.

RIP Ed.

I had hoped to go down there and meet the man myself. He seemed like a very genuine person in his postings.

My condolences to family and friends.

Sucks to hear this. About 7 years ago, he was going to pick me and my friends up from the Monterrey airport but plans changed and we took a bus. Bummed I never met him in person. Condolences to his family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Tami. I have great memories from climbing in "Access denied" with Ed, and going to visit the Major of Hidalgo shortly after. That area got closed due to some rocks we tossed. We took with us the latest Rock and Ice issue that featured an article about El Potrero Chico. Ed explained the Major that Hidalgo (El Potrero) was a world famous place among climbers, bringing much turism to the city. Shortly after the area was opened again for climbing.

Such a bummer. I never met him in person but climbed a few of his signature routes. I was just recently trying to get ahold of him to hear about his battery pack/extension chord setup that he used to bolt his long routes. . . Climb on Ed

It's a hard thing, dying. I understood he'd been in and out of hospital recently. I offer my small condolence to his EPC friends and to his spouse and family.

I had a few e-mail exchanges with Ed the last two years and I pictured him pretty much as posted above (excellent photo, BTW).

He was full of stoke and a gentleman.

Sad news. I can see Magic Ed now walking into the parking lot of La Posada surrounded by a cloud of dust and yipping pooches, excited for a day of climbing in the park. He had a huge heart and a contagious love for rock climbing and El Potrero. I'm so thankful I got a chance to meet and climb with him albeit very briefly.

Dang, I loved that dude and his energy.

Picked us up from the airport and arranged a nice house for our stay. Then he came by in his van and took us all to the Cat's Ass- a kickin' time for all. Later, he said he'd have dinner with us--we promised him something nice in any one of his favorite restaurants, his choice.

Dang rat, when he came by to pick us up, it was his wife who we found behind the wheel! The ol' bait and switch, for sure.

Yeah, he will be missed.

I never met him, but loved reading accounts about him. Sorry to hear the news.
