Yeah...looks like the requisite number of drying days if it gets soaked.

Indian Creek has always been a weird rain shadowy area though.

Hope Jim has a good tent/camper!

Serious wine nights? In Utah? Better load up on seriousness before you leave home.

Lol. Don't think I will become a Mormon any time soon.

Thanks for the directions, Jim. I hope everyone will save a few good lies--er, campfire stories--for me; I should be there about 1:00 a.m. on Friday, wine glass at the ready.

Could be a little damp...
Hey it's 6000 feet up in Utahhhhrrr high desert country. It can snow in July and bake you in January.

We'll be leaving Berserkely earlier than I'd thought so we'll be there by Friday possibly before noon. Wahoooooo!!!

Current forecast for late next week is excellent. But......being the "high desert country" it can change in a flash (or flash flood).
See y'awl there.

In Moab for resupply. A shower this morning and maybe tomorrow but then days of sunny, warm weather ....may be chasing the shade. No worries, I know where to go.

You can get wine at the State Liquor store in Moab.

Just so you know what is headed your way; a guy parked his mini-cooper at the bottom end of the Walmart lot and went in only to hear an intense rainstorm hitting the skylights, a real frog strangler.

He goes out 15 minutes later to find his car had floated about a hundred feet before sinking.

OK, now I'm getting confused. The gathering is for NEXT weekend April 30- May 2, correct?
Why is everyone so worried about the rain happening right now? It's supposed to be dry by Tuesday, giving 3 days of sun before Friday.

Don't worry Phylp. I'm planning to be there May 1, 2, and 3 for climbing; not swimming or float tubing. Going to try to come up with an EZ UP or some such for the sun or rain depending upon what shows.

FINAL BETA!
Yeah what was all that consternation about the weather. It's the first weekend in May and the forecast is great!!!
I've been in camp for a few days and I'm now in Moab doing final shopping.

You can show up anytime...I'm leaving next Tuesday but the campsite will be available for people to stay later.

Don't bring firewood....I have mucho.

Bring water...I have extra if you run out.

Free turkey dinner Saturday night....along with dressing and mashed potatoes. Bring your own salad and somebody be nice and buy a pumpkin pie.

Stream crossing is no problem for passenger cars with low clearence.

Bring tape.

It's gonna be fun!!!!
