I fail to see any reasonable way that someone other than Trump will be the nominee.

He will arrive at the convention with way, way more delegates to be elected on the first ballot.

What am I missing, what scenario changes this from being the reality?

only thing I can think of is if a large enough number of his pledged delegates changed their minds and voted for someone, anyone, else.

if that were to happen would that ever raise hell with the credibility of the RNC

can you imagine the uproar of being quite literally cheated out of Trump?

can you imagine how upset cosmic, guyman, escoliar, klimmer, et all would be?

I make no excuses for liking Hillary, see is an amazing woman and she just made history, first a black president and now a woman the head of major party and our next president.

Thanks to the open minds of my democrat friends (and a few republicans) for making this happen.

Indeed. No matter how loathsome you find him, the fact is, when the elites, deprive the voters of their voice, that Party is no longer a Democracy.

The same thing would apply to Clinton, should something be made out of her legal issues. The people have spoken, she has to be the nominee.

Again, not saying it's likely, but possible.

from Crankster's link

Denying the nomination to a candidate who achieved "presumptive" stature during the primaries would be unprecedented. But it could happen because the RNC Rules Committee, which meets just before the full convention, could change the rules to disadvantage Trump — perhaps by raising the the threshold for clinching the nomination on the first ballot, for instance.

It would be fun to watch the republican convention turn into a game of Calvinball.

Congratulations...May she bring you the freedom which you desire. But the reality is she will only provide you with the false security of being comfortable. Comfortable that someone stronger than you is thinking for you, while you sip your red wine in your comfortable Californian suburban home. Admiring yourself for your forward thinking or lack of. She is your new religion, feed on the democratic breast of ignorance. You new religion may be worse than the plague of Christianity. But will not last nearly as long. At least Bernie has the courage to admit the system is broken.

Yeah, but he can't win, trailridge. He would be gutted by Trump, and we'd have that as#@&%e in the Oval Office.

Maybe you'd like that. Go figure.

While I am gently proud that my Nation has finally accepted the fact that we have two capable genders on this planet - that little save-my-azz lizard brain thingy in the back of my skull keeps whispering "fear the postmenopausal for they seek revenge".

Men O' Pause - the name of a longstanding project that I do fear.

California puts it away - make Bernie or Elizabeth VP and let's get on with it.

Funny, since "white and affluent" describes Sanders' voting demographic far more than Clinton's.
