Out of deep dreams...more foot agony.
Into the tub...more hot-water therapy.

This was a dry run, you could say.

I filled the tub partially, the water covering my ankles and beginning its magic, when I noticed a clear resemblance to El Capitan.

I got out, dabbed my feet with a towel, changed the battery and fired up the cannon.

Then I resumed my seat on the shower stool the VA gave me when I was recovering from the open-heart surgery.

Mein Herr Doktor Freud:
In our last session you had me begin by recounting a disturbing dream. Hear another one, which just happened and which I am out of bed to describe. It shook me. I was physically affected.

I woke from a dream in which a man was attempting to convince the Lady Fire Marshal that he was qualified for a license as a fire tekkie. I was watching the test. He was asked to build a fire. He was on the other side of the bathroom mirror and I was on this side. He assembled his small pile of toilet tissue as tinder, along with pages torn from an anthology of poems called Another Poetry Thread. He pulled out a box of Diamond Strike On Box Matches. There were 32 matches. I recall this distinctly, because that's what the box label read. Of course, there may have been fewer, or the label a fake, but I have one here in my hand. This one has what appears to be 29(a quick count).

The aspiring carabinieri placed the matches carefully in a circular pattern, the red tips inwards, the stick ends radiating outwards. Then he took one of the matches, struck it on the box, put the box on the pyre, and lit the TP. In seconds it burst into bright flame. I looked down at the drain, and flames arose which brought an unbelievable stench into the bathroom. I had the presence of mind, thank God or my own Boy Scout training or hidden psychic guilt, to turn on the tap and quench the blaze.

I was and still am shocked, appalled, and dismayed all at one time. I was, of course, shocked that this might happen. I am dismayed because I had to inform the Lady Fire Marshal that this was not a good test and she immediately flunked the candidate. I am appalled because of the psychic ramifications of this event, which turned out to have been a dream.

I woke in agony with a foot cramp just like the one I had the other night. I can only say that I wish the prescription for a magnesium supplement which my primary care physician wrote last Friday had come yesterday. I had drunk extra water and taken a pain relief tab before going to bed tonight because I had had a couple of beers out on the town. I had fallen asleep immediately and this was three and a half hours or so later.

I entered a note in my Nocturnal Journal on this and am sending you this to apprise you of my intention to halt the dream therapy. I think you're so full of it when you say sometimes a cigar is just a cigar that it burns me up. Sometimes the egg on your face is quite real and quite messy.

Sweet dreams, Ciggy.

Your former patient,

Cheryl does not own a cell phone or other device of that kind.

This central location downtown was once ruled by Starbuck's, now moved several blocks west on Old 99 at Rte 59. Officer Mac told me that Stabuck's had free Wi-Fi and that's one reason WHY the place got so jammed with homeless folk. They left it on 24/7 and by rights could not exclude the homeless or anyone from using it. The Mainplace, as the locale is called, is really quite different from what it was before the coffee moguls and their PARTNERS (employees & baristas) pulled out.

I require more zzz's. G'mornin', all, 'n' g'night.

Fine sentiment, there, Gnome.

Fine shot of the Horsetail, Cosmick (you ARE Irish, right?).

And hooblie, that's good food for thought. However, I take Warfarin and green leafy vegetables are not in the cards. They inhibit the therapeutic value of Warfarin. When OFF the blood thinner, it takes longer to resume its efficacy and in fact, as I understand it, the patient never fully regains the stasis he may have once had. I've experienced this twice, both times leading to serious consequences which would likely have been prevented.

But I groove on seeds like all mice. Fish is seldom seen around here, though. They have pescadores at El Bajio. I've been sampling the mariscos at Los Costenitos, too; and I'm eating far less beef (on the advice of Dr. zBrown) and more beans.

And I had lots of beans yesterday. Four bean and cheese burritos last night and a leftover this morning. What my recipe calls for is refritos (out of the can is fine by me), raisins (!), and chopped lettuce, rolled into a steamy flour tortilla and dipped in, you got it...
CHILO'S CHILE!!!!!

That's a spicy burrito with a sweet taste you won't forget.

Chilo's will make any meal a memorable one, even corned beef (or bratwurst) and cabbage, I'll wager.

Have some sun on the house while you're here, guys.

Forsooth, Hair Doc Tor, let's be reasonable.

You haven't an open file with my medical history sitting on your computer, obviously. And there is good intent on your part.

So what's in a title, anyhow?

It's a matter of respect to address a medico as Doc. A doctor may endure the familiarity of addressing him by his first name, knowing it's just the patient's way of calming him or her self, getting comfortable with the man who's about to send him to the ghouls and cutters and X-Ray tekkies and the other myriad minions of medical magic.

You, on the other hand, have succeeded in making me feel better just knowin' ya care, amigo! Thangs a billion, sir.

Back atcha, Gnome.

K-toe-strophee

Got out of bed
Went to the can
And stubbed my toe
On the ottoman

Fell down and busted
A hole in the wall
And rolled outside
Like a big meatball

Ran over a cat
Who screeched and flew
And bit the dog
So right on queue

He jumped and leaped
Across the street
In front of a car
The horn went bleat

The brakes locked up
It started to spin
I plugged my ears
When I heard the din

A garbage truck
Was in the road
It swerved and flipped
And lost its load

A semi truck
Ran into the mess
What came next
I must confess

Was catastrophic
But even still
What was yet to come
Was a bitter pill

The semi truck
Avoided the wreck
By crossing the tracks
Of a train and heck

The train hit the truck
And it derailed
What came next
A godawful smell

A propane car
Was leaking and blew
I ran for my life
Didn't know what to do

The car flew up
Straight into the air
As a plane flew by
Without a care

The exploding mid-air
Wreckage fell
On a military base
That caught fire as well

The pentagon launched
Our missiles code red
They hit the North
Koreans in their bed

The Chinese and
The Russians struck back
The first bomb hit as
I crawled back in the sack

My toe had swollen
And turned to blue
As the end came swift
For me and you

Starting World War Three
Though never on the table
But while dying in my bed?
Was most deplorable
