Two bunheaded climbers are gettin' ready to turn in after a long day drinkin' and smokin' in the van while the rains make life outside in the parking lot look a lot like the days must have just before Noah's ark finally floated.

Let's say they're "not at their peak" condition, but you shoulda been here three days ago when it was bright and serene and the birds were chirpin' and that first night after the initial route (a single-pitch climb--all you had time for since the sun was dying--a hard layback up to a bulge, followed by a contortionist's move to a small protrusion with sketchy pro, and a Gaston to another knob six feet higher, then a reach-around to a bomber jug and a scamper to the top of the pinnacle) they'd gone to sleep dreaming good ones.

Only to awaken to sheets of rain drumming on the roof of the van. They had to sacrifice a gallon water jug to the God of Piss, too. It was just too wet to make a run for the porta-john. Finally, Grimass had the bright idea to drive the van over to the potty.

A dirtbag will out-survive a plain-ass country boy any day.

They've been sluicin' down the Michelob Ultra-Maxi-Light "beer" like it's water. They've been smokin' so much Ogee kushy-mushy that they can hardly see for the smoke.

Grippner tells Grimass good night as he rolls into his bag.

Grimass says he's pretty drunk and he is keeping the jug handy.

Grippner says that in the morning Grimass will still be ugly, but they'll both be sober, too.

Grimass says that he'll still be drunk, he's pretty sure, but they'll both still be trim and fit and downright svelte because of the non-beer they've swilled.

And that's a good thing, Grippner thinks, as he falls asleep, dreaming of handholds that glow in rainbow hues and jam cracks that pulse in disco time.

The big black version of those little white bennies were known as LA Turnarounds. Which bigPharma has the trademark on that one?

You could drive from L.A. to New York (and back),

Notorious CV killer Joseph Morse was a known abuser and more than likely was using the night he killed his mom and sister. He done the crime, now he's doing the thyme. Edits the prison newspaper. I may have to pop a couple and get on up there and interview him. No recorders or notes allowed. Prison Rules. I always figured prison sucked.

Hey Joe, where you going with those pills in your hand
Going down to kill my sis and old lady
Why, I don't really understaned

At the trial defendant recanted some of the statements h~
had made in his confession. He asserted that he had procured
narcotic drugs in Tijuana the Saturday preceding the killing
and, contrary to his earlier denial, stated that during all of
that eyening and the next day he had remained under the
influence of benzedrine and barbiturates. He denied that he
felt an urge to kill but stated that he was "bombed out"
from the effects of the drugs. He claimed that he kept this
fact from the police because at the time of his confession he
was so shaken that he wanted to die. Defendant further testified,
in substance, that the crimes were not premeditated. He
said that he intended merely to steal Ellen Young's purse.
He was induced to strike his mother by her accusations when
he tripped over the doorsill that "You are going back to jail
because you are messing around with dope again." He
struck his sister to silence her screams.

Viewed last night with John Decker in deep 4-D maxi-hi-gloss mos' def,
WITH surround sound, for those eerie basso white whale solos, earth-shaking and wave-making.

Let me say it is very, very DEEP.

I'm surprised they didn't try to get Johnny Deep for the role of the captain.

And you know my old friend Bouchard how? & Xavier when?
You are a prosumtive *jumper? ( read that phalically )
Presume this;
I was one of the young kids trying to perfect glide ratios before you were born
I saw good friends crash & burn, I soloed tens' till my kids were born
Then I tied in, I stayed tied-in & climbing hard till I fell hard.
I only opened EMails before then, no porn or YouTube
till I blew off some icy mud, attached to a 30 foot loop,
I stuck the landing And SO?
here the fuk I am now!
If it were up to me I'd be there in NoCaL,
have a home in that Green Triangle
Be getting burned out & by fire now,
But I share my life for the beauty of love,
With my Wife & Chidren one of them canine.
So tell us all again jumper, what a pro Piolet you are, please
Don't bitch that we have no respect
'Cause we do that flying sh#t is and has been the dream,
climb up & jump home.
It has come true man can fly
it is always the stopping that kills you
Spirit & Soul ~ or just spirit
& save your Soul .. .. .. for Love's Sake

I listened to a fair share of Skynard Today , I'm not caught up , and need to be so have a spell

of whatever girds you

Ho man its refreshed and yowl wows ohms an am I late for the show. . .
as far as topers go I've not collected any but the throw away kind, that came out blurry so I forgot to load them, thats one.
Heres a nice reminder that Ive been a lot of cool paces,
given the New Format of needing to up load photos thru the site's up-load function.
a step that takes more time so I'm less likely to clear up poor shots in filter or photo-shop
Speaking of Blurry shotsand if i try real hard putting the camera on single shot,
and taking three or 4 of the same thing , the camera decides what it likes and focuses on that .
then after the 3rd shot or so it focuses on what the actually subject might be if its still in frame

Hey ~ Phyllis here.
I have a ton of history to share. Traveling at the moment and will get back soon.
In the meantime
here is a photo on Thanksgiving Ledge 1975. Climbed this route with Gary Fox and Bill Morris. Buff Nhia was going to join us, but just came back from Alaska, so he didn't climb with us. More to come...

Brexit? Sure but only on a big concert weekend.

Joe attempted a purse snatch as a prelim to "rocking & batting" mom and sis.

It was the combo that bombed him out. If I told him once, I told him twice.

Downers on even numbered days uppers on odd days.

And yes let's get real, Joe does make a literary appearance in The Realist (#95, page 7).

On the otherr hand

In a forest where animals of all kinds were living together, there was a zebra which was strong and always escaped from wild animals.Neither the tiger nor the wolf could catch it.

One day the zebra was eating grass around a river in the forest, and it was feeling proud of itself in front of other animals as it was stronger and smarter than others. Suddenly, a lion appeared near the river and all those zebras started running away very fast.

The strong zebra stayed the last in order to make sure all zebras were safe. The lion was going to capture the zebra, but luckily it hacked the lion with both its legs, and the like then seemed scared and escaped. However, the zebra kept following it very fast as it thought it was weak.

The lion had kept running until it found a large cave and it wentin. The zebra followed the lion in that cave, but unfortunately, there were three more lions, and they caught that zebra and ate it.

The other zebras learned a lesson that day which is never to trust yourself too much because too much can kill you.
