Timid, I can't thank you enough for this.
[Click to View YouTube Video]I had it for breakfast with apricot preserves.

And then I went to church with Laurie.

I had another cup of joe and a glass of lemonade.

I met Carmen, Laurie's bestie, and John, her hubby.

I met Rhonda, Al, Marc, and Pete.

Here's what: I felt like I was at a rock and roll event,
what with the drummer-in-a-plexi-cage, the bass way-amplified,
TWO chick singers, one on keyboard, and the guitar-slinger.

Half an hour of rocking hand-waving.

Where was my cell phone and what was I thinking?/Why wasn't I thinking?

Honestly, I pictured a packed house, iPhones held high....

And then an overly-long harangue, er, talk, by the head of the place, Reverend/Brother Al. I'm flashing "Yankovic", when we spoke afterward, while slurping lemonade - but it's Schaap. Nice person, eager to be seen to be doing a good job, but you need a gig. It was a great to be with Laurie, speaking of deeper than normal subjects.

All in all, it was as good as the date at LaunderLand, but I don't have clean clothes, just a fresh-smelling soul, possibly.

The second half of our date was in the aisles of Raley's, searching out non-dairy creamer like BRONSON, not asking, just following common sense.
It was where we started looking, but across the aisle, and I'd have had to have eyes in the back of my head to find it right off, so I felt somewhat better. Laurie was the same about her Cool-Whip, so it was cool.

He seldom minces words.
He eats his whey with curds.
And raisins and a few pistachios, "the skinny nut."
Don't get me started.
Greenery on the Choochilla is mainly pistachio green.

So what? It's gonna happen, the cattle gotta go.

Have a garden veggie patty instead of McBeef.
Still at large.

"Hambone who?"
Meyer coached DePaul men’s basketball from 1942 to 1984, leading the Blue Demons to make 21 post-season appearances.

No relation to "our Georgie."

Why are men such fools on April one?

Something to do with disbelieving the Great Time Change of 1582, when many people in France didn't realize that the country had switched the calendars from Julian to the Gregorian, believing the new year still started during the last week of March through April 1. Those people became the butt of jokes and pranks, including having paper fish put on their backs to symbolize that they were gullible.

[Chill out, Russ. Fish Products are highly prized around this campfire. Whether made of paper or plastic.]

When we married in 1990, Liz and I had her brother-in-law David sing Elvis' Fools Rush In.

I was thinking of "buying up" all the posts between here and 20,001 and offering them for sale, but that would sorta restrict your rights and I might end up a target for ol' Joe Bob.
I AM the Fool On the Hill, the one and only Nowhere Man, the Russian Fool and the Twice-Fooled One.

Don't accept ersatz foolishness.

You want the real deal.

I've been checking and it's not on Youtube.

But this is. And thank you, Mr. Jones.

Better yet, be Bridwell with attitude.

Better even than that, be neebee. *woof*Yes, I am changing the name of The Flames to The Flan.

It will be a voice for the muted Mexican, a solid in the face of a spoiled noodge's hate for a whole nation, a wall, if you will, of fire made from old chilies handed down from the Time Before Trump.

I'm sorry, I'm just no good at April Fools. I think I'll mebbe go sit in the meadow and watch Boot Flake or Texas Flake take its plunge.

Which one will it be today?

EDIT: It was Boot Flake. Thank you, Brother Grover!

It's no joke. This is to be expected, however. And not that getting folks off the SNAP and into employment is a bad thing, it is the way it's supposed to work.

I received SNAP benefits when working at the bookstore, and Laurie gets them bennies, too. Yet they deny her MediCal bennies because of a minimal IRA.

Bureaucracy...hoops, smoke, mirrors, and loopholes.

Loophole.
The word loophole is commonly used, especially in regards to tax law.... These narrow slits were known as loopholes, most probably derived from the Dutch word lûpen meaning to watch. The term loophole came into use in the seventeenth century in a figurative sense to mean a small opening or a outlet of escape.

"They were louring thru the loopholes all along the watchtower," according to G. Hovah, a witness. "There seems to be a lot of confusion and no way out of here."

Sadly on this last day of earth when Armageddon is finally upon us our human species will never realize what it has taken for granted as our lovely multi colored planet is swallowed by a rogue star traveling the galaxy in the wrong direction, such a rude awakening for our our idyllic little solar system...

So here is a humble not so rhyming poem in pre-memorial.
And happy 20,000 posts on your thread here Brian, in case I blink and miss it.

Expanding philosophically
is the debate on ancient secrets
of the multidimensional universe
and it’s mysteries that unfold
by some curious lower life forms
confined within the troposphere
of this hurtling swirling orb

That’s Not How You Do That!

I can see across the meadow
to an orchard on the hillside
there walks a dark haired woman
with a basket in her hand
under carob trees and figs
where tall grasses harboring gnomes
sway to breezes in the springtime

That’s Not It Either!

Submerged beneath a boiling ocean
scarlet orbs expanding rise
as lightning strikes the surface
portend to cataclysmic
eruptions of exploding lava bursts
and hissing hydrochloric gas
at Fahrenheit twenty ninety one

Well...........Foreboding Some

Sounds like an absolute GAS, man!

And thank you, blushman bushelman muscleman.

It's Lawrence, not Larry. This is a black and white photograph of Lawrence Ferlinghetti standing by a hand-painted sign above a rack of books on artists. The sign reads, "I AM THE DOOR."

Micaëla Gallery printout:"LAWRENCE FERLINGHETTI / I AM THE DOOR, CITY LIGHTS BOOKS / San Francisco 1965 / Lawrence Ferlinghetti is a Beat poet, artist and owner/publisher of City Lights Books (the first soft cover book store in the US). He was the first Poet laureate of San Francisco. This photograph was taken in the basement of City Lights. Ferlinghetti told me that City Lights used to be a Holy Roller church and that he had left up the Biblical tracts on the walls. While posing for me in front of 'I Am the Door' Ferlinghetti pulled his coat up to reveal the 'door'."Now where did I leave the gas can?

Just an average joe, oddly attracted to fire.
