burning burning

last night I heard
from a far off place
the night was burning
and my ears were burning
burning burning

I heard voices from
a distant place
from some other universe
far out in space
burning burning

Earth’s own back yard
an island nation
the Māori and the colonists
who tossed the British
off their backs

as for the criminal
at our nation’s heart
“very fine people,
on both sides” he said
now more people lie dead

not pontificating
on these platitudes
but that guy deserves
no ones gratitude
just some white dude
I’m sayin’

When I dream these things
our conscious collective
it’s speaking to me
or maybe I’m just crazy
not hazy

last night I heard
from a far off place
the night was burning
and my ears were burning
burning burning

Christchurch we grieve for you
and your Muslim community
and Christ had nothing
to do with it
just some white dude
I’m sayin’

neebee; than you.

What can you do
The world
All around
won't let a day start on a happy note'

Especially when it is A special day
a special week a time no child ever gets to have twice
there is only one
18th

a sad way to say it here
As I would have wanted
a much nicer way to take stock

Ive sent them off for a weekend
together, big sis watch'd out for
by the younger bigger brother

Off to a regional competition
again, the last time got called off
and that lesson too
was rough

Starting 2 hours before the regular dawn start
to spend 7 hours on a bus
to go nowhere and back again

At todays break fast too,
And also having to explain
commiserate not celebrate
have to explain why no regular TV news
giving rise to raise their concerns

"slopers" oldest kid
has a day just about
too to celebrate
there's a terrible mistake
times two, what did ya think ?
what else would it do
to celebrate
if only over there

while here
because of far way away
Bad Bad news
weren't the news
that having happened
even farther away than
there a sunset away
to break before dawn

It is high time my state stopped killing people in a pre-meditated way.

I applaud Governor Gavin's move.

Am I alone in feeling this way?

I like the makeover from golden state to green state.

It was the same year that the Yosemite Climbing Club was brought into being, 1960, that brought the death penalty into focus for some.

Partial background of the "Chouinard-Herbert-Chessman connection."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caryl_Chessman

As we mourn the NZ killings, let's keep our cool.

Yosemite Climbing Club

A January 16, 1960, letter to Steve Roper listed
the names of people qualified to become members
due to their "extremely high standards....
outstanding ability and devoted-ness to climbing."

The names of the invited climbers were: 1-Yvon Chouinard,
2-Harry Daley, 3-Bill Feuerer, 4-Joe Fitschen, 5-Tom Frost,
6-Warren Harding, 7-TM Herbert, 8-Bob Kamps, 9-Mark Powell,
10-Chuck Pratt, 11-Charles Raymond, 12-Dave Rearick,
13-Royal Robbins, 14-Steve Roper, 15-Herb Swedlund,
and 16-Charles Wilts.

The club would exist until the Spring Gathering in
Camp 4 with "no officers, no constitution, or by-laws,
and no dues," according to the letter. Roper figured
that Yvon Chouinard had sent it since he had been talking
it up previously. He also found out later that Bill Feuerer
had drawn up the "manifesto," as he called it.

My spouse and I have mixed and conflicting opinions regarding the death penalty. I personally do not see anything but hypocrisy in a Christian majority society who espouse New Testament virtues applying Old Testament eye for an eye doctrines to the Justice system.

Wish we could just get religion out of politics, politics out of science and medicine, and let the penal system go from being about punishment to becoming truly about practicing rehabilitation, and in the case of those deemed irreversibly irredeemable, forget wasting tax payer money trying to fight all their appeals and let them serve out life sentences repaying victims while working in prisons industries. Then a portion of the the little money they earn could be sent to the victims of their crimes.

And in the case of those wrongly convicted, there might be a chance for them to be exonerated, or at least not wrongly executed (possibly one of the worst miscarriages of justice).

Oh and America...
Please don’t put another old senile f*#k in the White House in 2020, especially anyone that makes more money than God. People like that will only ever represent...
well, God I suppose.

Seems like a brown out?

Man accused of attacking brown pelican charged with animal cruelty

For one thing, many people think spiders are insects. They're not.

Both spiders and insects are invertebrates, but spiders are not insects.

Insects have a head, thorax and abdomen, and the thorax has three pairs of legs. They also eyes, antennae and mouthparts, the Explorit Science Center website points out. "The entire body is protected by a tough outer covering called an exoskeleton. Animals that share these characteristics are called insects. The group to which they belong is called the Insecta."

Spiders, as the Explorit Science Center explains, have two main body parts. "The body consists of a combined head and thorax called the cephalothorax, and the abdomen. The cephalothorax has the eyes, mouthparts (no antennae) and four pairs of legs. Animals that share these characteristics include ticks, mites, scorpions and spiders. The group is called the Arachnida."

Though most spiders are relatively harmless, the brown recluse is one of few spiders in the United States that have the potential to be quite harmful to humans. It is usually found in warmer areas of south central and Midwestern sections of the country. Receiving a bite from a brown recluse can lead to skin lesions and in the worst case, death. Recognising a brown recluse infestation is taking place is the first step in the process of ridding your home of brown recluse spiders. To determine if a location is infested, one must first identify the spider. Afterwards, one can search for indications of their presence, like finding shed skins or webs.

😊 Put on a Happy Face.

NO MATTER WHAT!

When you smile the whole world smiles with you.

Say "Have a nice day" to the telemarketers when you hang up.

Find a random act of kindness and someone to do it to.But when the game is over and they've recorded the last out,
"There will be no joy in Mudville, for the president is a lout."
