Yes, thanks for the thought food, Jay.

Dig this lady and her story.

What the John Birch Society wanted in 1960 (and has worked for ever since) is now what the GOP and President Trump want. Here are some examples:

Slash the federal government and privatize as many functions as possible
Block grant money to the states for poverty programs (Medicaid) with little federal oversight or regulation
Shred the safety net from food stamps to unemployment insurance
End regulation of the environment and deny the findings of Climate Science
Restrict women’s reproductive choices including abortion and family planning services
Make it harder to vote by reducing access to the polls and imposing voter ID laws
Insist that voter fraud is a major problems despite all evidence to the contrary
Fight all gun safety regulations including those that keep guns out of the hands of those who are mentally ill
Cut taxes in ways that benefit the wealthy and corporations no matter the impact on government revenue
Oppose increases in the federal minimum wage
Destroy public unions
End Social Security and Medicare
End regulation of business and banking
Roll back all healthcare reform
Deport undocumented immigrants without exceptions

And her blog.

While the poorest half of humanity saw their wealth dwindle by 11%, billionaires’ riches increased by 12%. The mega-wealthy have also become a more concentrated bunch. Last year, the top 26 wealthiest people owned $1.4 trillion, or as much as the 3.8 billion poorest people. The year before, it was the top 43 people.

Laurie wanted to see this more than I wanted to see Queen of Scots, and it's a long, long series of special effects, basically.

A "bit" overlong, I thought. My eyes took a long time readjusting to reality, and they've stopped tearing. It was that intense.

I'm not much for loud movies. Laurie, she's partially deaf so it's only a minor thing to her. We got into it about her deafness, too. And I was out of line with one remark to which she took offense. But I apologized for my lack of understanding of her problem and we talked it out.

We are glad of each other's friendship. It's too good to waste it.

This relationship is a good thing for me, as my only "live" contact with females are my roommate Dawn and her daughter on occasion, and what few waitresses I deal with.

So I'm hanging in with Laurie, who was shocked to find I am seventy. She is five years younger and all this time thought that I was even younger than she. Wow! She was staggered. I think she found the day as refreshing and enlightening as I.

There was little snow at Cedar Ridge on Sunday night. My sister told me it rained pretty heavy and they had thunder and lightning.

Everything is frozen here.
The rain came in just as the north wind rose.
Old paths and short walks so treacherously slick you'd not be wrong to call them republicanEverything is shut down.
The Highschool where our taxes are stolen from,
has suffered a frozen then burst pipe, in the newly renovated wing.
So while they call it a 3-hour delay,
no meaningful school work will be achieved,
if they don't call it off altogether,
we shall soon see

When the sun is out, everything sparkles. Sending a glistening refracted light to one's cornea.
There is a moment where the spectral white is a delight.
It has lasted too. just a gorgeous sight but hard to get a fulfilling picture of.
The temperature is due to break tonight, I'll be sad, I tried more than twice to get good pictures.
Along the way, I was informed that the "new" rig,
never used for a yr. won't respond - will not take pictures.
Along with that, the temperatures are not conducive to chancing going far.Risking a fall with the plastic Cannon,
I make do with takes on more weight
prioritizing things a thing we do do.
The zero degree temps, hurt too.
Fingers long ago smashed and frozen,
so now suffer burning frostnip from the memory of those biting exciting days
That that camera must have been a fall victim.
A tragedy of some sort of shock, it is buggerd beyond -
and It was a gift to me I left to her & them,
I took 3 pictures and now? maybe we can send it in?

just a gorgeous sight but hard to get a fulfilling picture of.

No charge for the upgrade, bud.
The first one's prime the way it is.
You'd better be prepared to go shoot in weather like that
if you dressed to go ice climbing.
Hey, I'm a Cali boy. WTF do I know about the cold?
Don't get conked by falling branches, okay?

HUH? Caps lock fail
They all seem dull. What magic sauce did you and to bring out the shimmering sunshine?edit, so, sadly, it seems it is my own fault, I loaded 60+ pics to the "This PC" and not a separate drive

stormy weatherthe next has been shifted lower highlights increased exposure yada yada but brooding stormy is easy for mefuzzy wuzzy grab above
these 2 of a better focused one

The first take before I understood the mistake...

it seems that they are all the wrong size to load directly as well?
if I have to toy with them what direction do I take ?
contrast, highlight, shadow, exposure, maybe the auto-tune ; the "enhance" feature?weak attempt just the enhance feature and some small tweeks(meh! not enough to load)
2nd try3rd to be true

I keep re-working the saved images with "clarity" after tweaking "contrast" and "shadow" and "highlight" etc.

This is using the Windows 10 tweak menu.

You need to play around with it a lot, sometimes, so it's a good idea to "save images" as you go. This is not reversible when I hit "save."

Argh! Bozo that I am I forgot to show a stand-alone picture of the setup:
The 3 shoe boxes,
stacked one on top of the other
almost identical in size
on the left, in the picture below;
there was a hidden light source. The peep-hole is on the front of the box in the middle you could open the lid of the top box it was empty Such a strange mix of very questionable "Art"
It stretched the better half's patience,
her tolerance beyond her spouses strange
doesn't reach much into the Avant-Garde

it’s raining in dreamland

words cannot mend
that come down on the head
then a pregnant pause

the kachina clawed
his way to the opening
of the storage container

on a darkened road
he hitched a ride on a juiced red rider
piloted by a pirate cat driver

he flips the switch and
nitro rockets them to a hundred and ten
beyond the unnatural

shrieks in a bar room at two am
two lady dwarfs exit
with strange dates worse for wear

old souls by the age of ten
never hit the squirrels in eastern forests
but always got the deer

words tumble down
rattling the helmet with spindrift hypnosis
at three am on a sunday
