Two good buds of mine are Rdog and rSin.

Howdy, boys, you rowdy boys.
Anything to keep the peace, eh?

The same goes for Gnome and zBrown.

Maybe the Rev could join us to say his special grace before meals.

"Grace, grace, grace. Now feed yo' face."

"Let's call him James, dear."

"Fine with me, babe. Everyone's just gonna call him 'Bird' anyway, so it really doesn't matter."

Happy Birthday to The Bird!

Where there are Flames there is usually smoke.
Often, and even if the Flames are broke,
They will find something to toke.

This looks menacing, if not ominous. Just at dusk all this smoke came drifting out of the northeast
and it even looked (no binocs, so I had to eyeball it) as if there were a separate source from the Willow Fire,
the nearest one of which I know.

Smoke from wildfires is a form of particulate matter pollution (PM 2.5),
carries ozone precursors and is harmful to human health.

Ozone precursor--
Chemical compounds, such as carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), NMVOCs and nitrogen oxide (NOx),
which in the presence of solar radiation react with other chemical compounds to form ozone,
mainly in the troposphere.

There is an apartment building on O Street, across from the Courthouse Park and I used to live in a house whose backyard abutted the alley next to it.

It was commonly referred to as The O Zone.

My friend Johnny Feaver lived there quite a while and we'd go sit on the lawn in front of the O Zone, sharing BBQ and beer, etc., while across the street in the park the Merced Blues Festival (RIP) went on.

Free entertainment, mostly free comestibles (BYOB, the chicken was free.)

will share my birthday, friday, with my friend, and perhaps we will have salmon, :) hee hee, i always make chicken, so it is our standard joke, :))

happy god bless to you and to feralfae, when she pops up here, again, too...

Amen to that and thanks for the chit-chat.
I liked old Bobby the Black and White cat.
That's a nice photo, neebee, on your FB page
--as we have been featuring our pets here recently,
then it's nice to have your input.
(Post it here, if you feel like it.)

I will, and have been, keep U. in my prayers.
It must be tough on both you and her.

Nuff said
Time for bed.

But let me thank you for all of us on the compliments, first. :0)

You missed?

Splitclimber, thanx for the knod, !
Thank you also for the mention of the event.
My photos barley rank,
but if you could stack them
all on top of one another,
well maybe then

Huh, that is the next time it'd that' I only check , here to point out some delay in the refresh "?"
I have no way to explain , when I post the thread changes and I see more, some times much more, that was not in sight when I opened it and pursued, before posting.
This worked me,but i will go back, soon, and often.
there are many rocks that I will never visit again, the rocks of Avon when the dog schnozzola picture was first posted around 5/25 @ are, sad to say, in that group. Or by all rights, the top location that due to the surrounding towns and activities climbing has been abandoned by all but the immediate locals. The invite to climb has all but dried up,
this from me is a big admission!
The pirate in me wants to get a gas powered drill and go down in a dust storm of controversy.
Then of course , thanx to the important consideration, and counting to fifty.
I grieve the loss of a fine climbing zone, and move on?
The boulders that I posted in hopes , as a little prayer or knod, To my wishes. A Fingers crossed sort of thing.
as the invitation has not come,
A sweet Trap-Rock cliff 14-35, lines that are some of the most leadable in the state,
but all top roped.some very hard projects? And nine sport routes, some hangers gone.
there's Gold in them,there hills
Gold ! I tell ya' gold.

Lovely pics of P.A.M., neebee, and the flower. Thanks!
Out early/late shooting the moon in preparation for the full moon.

I've just today been notified by the Cricket Corp. that I need to get a new phone soon. GSM technology is replacing the old system, being scrapped soon.

I spent some time chatting with service reps online today after having seen the message to that effect on the phone this morning.

The first one was Josh.

HI, my name is Josh! And how are you? I'm all chipper and :) and sh...AWESOME! And I wonder how may I help you this fine day?!

If I'd had that kind of experience in person, I swear I'd have thought twice about keeping them as my comm provider. You aren't talking to them because you feel like a cruise on Facebook or Twitter.

It's business, not social networking. Keep them straight, Corpsinc.com!!!!

"Agent is typing..."

To hell with you, client. We own YOU!

It turned out that Josh could not help me! Too bad, Josh! Break a leg!

The next rep was down-to-earth Elena, thank you Jesus!

Save me from twits, please, Lord, or if you must place them in my life, let me at least remember to count to fifty (which I found works quite well, thank you jstan).
I'm a painter, not a pointer, bud.

I was seeking "another name for a line indicating a degree of latitude" on the web and a site which came up, Yahoo answers, yielded this.

What is the name of 0 degrees latitude?
"i am failing social studies, so i really want to pass. if i pass i will get 6oo dollars from my mother. so please help me.lol"

The first answer:
"It's the equator, of course! Idjit!" Words to that effect.

The second answer:
"Despite everyone giving you the answer here...you deserve to fail that class. I'm sorry, but you can't be just dumb to not know the answer to this question. You have to be so incredibly lazy that you are unwilling to study even the most basic information provided to you.

But, yeah, I can see why your mother is trying to bribe you to get better grades....but all you do is cheat to try and get it.

You want fries with that? <---Your future.

In the tradition of Oliver Sacks, a tour of the latest neuroscience of schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, ecstatic epilepsy, Cotard’s syndrome, out-of-body experiences, and other disorders—revealing the awesome power of the human sense of self from a master of science journalism

Anil Ananthaswamy’s extensive in-depth interviews venture into the lives of individuals who offer perspectives that will change how you think about who you are. These individuals all lost some part of what we think of as our self, but they then offer remarkable, sometimes heart-wrenching insights into what remains. One man cut off his own leg. Another became one with the universe.

We are learning about the self at a level of detail that Descartes (“I think therefore I am”) could never have imagined. Recent research into Alzheimer’s illuminates how memory creates your narrative self by using the same part of your brain for your past as for your future.

But wait, those afflicted with Cotard’s syndrome think they are already dead; in a way, they believe that “I think therefore I am not.” Who—or what—can say that? Neuroscience has identified specific regions of the brain that, when they misfire, can cause the self to move back and forth between the body and a doppelgänger, or to leave the body entirely. So where in the brain, or mind, or body, is the self actually located?

As Ananthaswamy elegantly reports, neuroscientists themselves now see that the elusive sense of self is both everywhere and nowhere in the human brain.

selfie? or selvies?
