^^^ 1957 Opening Day - Chuck Dressen, Senators mgr., and Paul Richards, Orioles mgr.

FDR has the record for the most opening day pitches - 8 times.Nixon was called in to pitch the 1959 opener due to Ike's ill health. (So-called "disabled lists" did not exist back then so the CinC was still on the roster).

Local hero Ted Williams, after attending Hoover High School, became somewhat more than a batboy for the SD (PCL) Padres at Lane Field (where incidentally, my older brother once pitched, whilst I spectated).

That choice of high school (he coulda been a contenda at San Diego High) was something of a Godsend, keeping him out of JEDGAR'S files and possibly resulting in this tribute.

Nobody has to worry about "braking for Ted's head", since it's safely stashed in cold storage. Have I seen it? I can't say.

Jayne Mansfield? Yeah, that's another story, but I did meet her at Caliente. IT WAS A HOT DAY AS I RECALL.

Is this just sheeit-talk
or
I don't make this sheeit up?

A woman who threw her poo out of her date's toilet window because it "would not flush" had to be rescued after she got stuck trying to retrieve it.

After the fire service had "composed themselves," Mr Smith said they set to work freeing his date from the window

Lane Field photo deserves a second look.

Note the preferred parking. Is that C. Arnholt Smith's car in the middle of the photo?

Sign in the outfield reads "problems - ride the bus"

Alternatively, stay home and eat cake.

Long before Vanna, Michele used to be a number flipper on the PSA scoreboard. Sorry, no videos. She was underage.

Checkout the direction that all those folks in hatz are orienting. More Secret Service for Ted than he could shake his bat at.

Unfortunately, the story gets crappier. Smyth’s bathroom window doesn’t open to the garden, but into an 18-inch gap that is separated from the outside world by another non-opening double glazed window.

“It was into this twilight zone that my date had thrown her poo,” he wrote.

Your story should win a Poolitzer Prize, zBrown. No schidt.

I'm presenting this sPOOktacular episode from Karen McCann's travel blog, which is timely as it can be, what with my own toad rip now safely logged in.

There's even an interview with Helen "Wonderbra" Mirren in this one.
And a mystery spotlight from the Moqui Cave.
The earlier BOLO has been amended. Be on the lookout for a blue and cream colored Taurus.
I mean, it's impolite to come right out and say they "need more seasoning," or "aren't ready for prime time," or "their time may come."
