The Bad Poet

Once there was a bad poet
Who came from the east
Tried make the world listen
Tried to spread some harmony
But he wasn't listening
To his own heart
To the rhythm of life
To the silence between words
To getting your feet wet
He only heard his own voice

I'd give him a dollar for all of his work
No trumpets were sounding
No scribe took his words
And recorded them for history
Or saved them for you or for me

There once was a poet
The worst that I've heard
It wasn't his rhyming or cadence
Something was off in the delivery
Something didn't feel silvery
Not golden with honey
And no amount of money
Could stop him from stumbling
Or tripping on his own words

He wrote odes to Nantucket
And those cheap sci-fi riffs
Or the musical reviews
But nothing too memorable
That rolled off the lips

He never got wealthy
That wasn't the point
And no one remembered
Who came to the joint
Didn't matter where he worked
He came off like a jerk
He couldn't hear the sweet hum
Or the beautiful call
Only bleating and rambling
And no one remembered his work

I'll sing of the bad poet
I know I've been one
When forgetting our purpose
We just bang on a drum
We don't remember when we had such fun

Far from it - in the eye of the be-held
as this jerk knows all to well
of the rank So low it's no prank
Life's been un-fair but I've surfed the swell to do very well
Considering I don't speak Russian or Chinese

Oh, Please. . .

I 'member just fine
I've written to many a bad line
with no rhythm or rhyme

It was all done in jest , and never my best
it is the pre dawn drivel of survivors guilt I as wage

Ti's the anniversary of the death of the page

Why has it gone off the rails ?

It has been proferd or offerd that as things go a hil and fool are never parted

All done ? Yup
I was just trying to provide foil - relief,

Haven't. Hit the link, and don't plan to
Thanks for the info, and sharing the link & the jibes
I'm not sure what I missed but
I'll just stay dis'd
its to much a waste of time when there is something to to go climb

As I was scrolling, tired but no snorin'
it was 3 in the mornin'

I'll not sleep a wink if I hit a link on the failing of an Anchor,
it was not that if it pulled . . .

And

I'll not watch entitled pompous yoot trying to get a hoot

"PULL"?

Pull this

so (Pompidou) yoot trying to get a hoot

With a Chain ?

That was -too; believe it -

To stupid for the both of me.

A production of note

But I missed it

Was there a joke

or just

A fool ?

not sure I'm in the smokin' ducks camp anymore?

but I'm moe 'n more not hear in' it

My life saver

Climbing

was all about

Goin' to the dogs 1st

Feed in' that jones

We felt in our bones

Now it seems

It Cats what's got the whiskers

I'd been,
Imp happy that
As famous as I was awhile back

PS
Gnome, that poem wasn't about anyone here on the Flames thread, only maybe a little or a lot about me. A little self critique though I don't come from the east, maybe should change it to 'from the west?' I would never criticize art to the living, ha ha. Besides, ramblin' man, the riddle's a mysterious enigmatic question mark, rolled into a conundrum to be left drying in the sun.

Last month we watched a lone buffalo swim across a wide deep section of the Yellowstone River, didn't think they'd do that.

I want my pasture back
Moo
Your road is covering it
Moo
Your car's blocking my way
Moo
This is where I once lived
Moo
You took my sky away

I'm not just a peice of meat

I've got a brain and a heart
But Moo
Is all I've got to say

To An Unknown Soul

Near or far
You are where you are
I am where I am
And someday we will dance together
But maybe not in this life

Pray for an easy death
Prepare for a difficult one
As difficult as your life has been
As hard as mine seemed without you
A little more time is nothing

View from Hawkridge Drive above Janet Lee Drive in La Crescenata.

Interestingly enough Mike lived on Janet Lee until he died.

That's not the Campanile my friend, that's your vision growing dim.

And you climbed the twilight mountains
And you sang about the view,
And everywhere that you wandered
Love seemed to go along with you.
That's a hard one to remember,
Yes it makes you clench your fist.

“Fat Leonard” may sink 30 Admirals

A 350 pound, 51-year-old Malaysian businessman, Leonard Glenn Francis, nicknamed “Fat Leonard”, plied the US 7th Fleet leadership (and I use that term loosely) with cigars, booze and opulent hotel accommodations in order “so they would look the other way while he swindled the Navy to refuel and resupply its ships”,
