Thanks for sharing that video, Timid. Dr. Ornish is well-known to me. My former manager at BDalton Bookseller was on the Ornish wagon.

I need to break away from the Cinema menu of eggs, oil, etc., and get back to the pottage I enjoyed when I lost 85 pounds some time ago - I weighed 245# (19 stones).

The greens are difficult. Users of Warfarin/Coumadin (anti-coagulant) are not supposed to eat much green leafy veg and then only in a "steady" amount. But when are you eating well enough to stop using the scrips? A lot of questions here, but one thing is going my way: I'm qualified now for the CalFresh program/food stamps. I'll be getting bennies next month for this month as well as next month soon, meaning I'll be able to stock up on some things and make plans to control the diet better.

As I said, thanks for the interest, and I know you're big on it, so I promise to do more in this regard. If you won't listen to friends, to whom will you listen?

My buddies shun me since I turned to veggies
They say I'm missing a whole world of fun
I live without meat and walk day and night
I love me a soy burger on a flax bun

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x24td9m_bright-lights-brilliant-minds-a-tale-of-three-cities-1-vienna-1908_travel

You may remember the title of a novel, "The Little Book," which I recently enjoyed and recommended. This video is the first of a three-part effort to show how the cities of Vienna in 1908, Paris in 1928, and NYC in 1951 changed the world.

I'm no critic, but I liked the part about Vienna, which pretty well goes along with the history of the city as presented by Selden Edwards.

When Music Was Still On MTV: Birth of an Iconic Channel
http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2000/11/mtv200011

Jac Holzman, senior vice president, Warner communications: I’d been involved with music videos—“clips,” we were calling them then—a long time. When we came out with the first Doors album in 1967, we made a video of them doing “Break On Through.”

Did it with our own in-house camera, and it cost maybe $1,000. We sent it around to the afternoon dance shows, and it helped get them a lot of attention.

I thought, Gee, this is kind of nice: exposure through another medium. I was thinking also that we could probably get some exposure overseas, because we were having a tough time with our really basic American music in Europe, and videos were very big over there.

Years pass, and I see a video called “Rio” made by Michael Nesmith, formerly of the Monkees, and it was a whole different order of magnitude from anything I’d seen. He understood that music was not just about audio, but had a visual component which would carry further the meaning of the song.

And "Rio" is the first video which I recall seeing on MTV. It was in 1983.

I did not know then that I wanted it. They had to tell me later.

I now have a permanently blistered thumb, but the kitchen's so cool.

I just missed seeing this ^^^^, this "near-debacle" in my haste to poste Mr. Zeebroke's two vids. Those are some dainty hands, and a nice smile, too, Dingus.

Lady Scarlett's a gem. She should be on Youtube with her long jacket.

She didn't know? She was doing the recording

By the way I can't see any -Inbeds - anyway

like Hankster in reverse

There's a place in Jerry heaven where I've got my spot reserved

There's no colors that I wear
No tatts too

But you here know the flag I fly
And leave no out head alone
I chat 'em up I question
Probe and jibe

If you wear your colors out you better say hey to the schny
The Gnome will give the hug

I'm that tie dye!

So it was that after a crap dinner
of a slab of sticky ribs, mostly for the kids
& a gud spinach salad for Big kids mostly
with 'butternut lettuce 'shrooms 'n carrots a hint of onion
blue cheese crumbed with Trader Joes blue cheese dressing.

We made a trip back down the hill for munchies
So what if it's end of the month ?

But it was to be , !?
I just realized we forgot the coffee!

But the bag was like a stoners with the munchies dream
two kinds of ice cream whites vanilla
Chocalate chocolate
the toaster cookies
and some chocolate covered caramels ,
popcorn in a bag?!

The smallest smoked salmon that they have. . . .

This what gets bought behind my back!

I was way to busy taking
to Pickles!

I did not take her picture
I did give her a great big squeeze

Covered; neck'd to nipple (I assume)
in dancing bears, & the like
paw prints . . .
A strap around her wrist ,
was one of the best lightening bolt Tattoos I've seen.

she was a Queen Dead head
fresh back from shows,
Retired On disability,

an ex LEO! German Shepard mamma
Sparkling still in her eyes
The exact un-Hankster
and jammin to a Jerry show
in the isles of Trader Joes

I stopped at her Burch mobile a yellow Jeep the two door
and fell over
A proudly deplorable sticker ! Among the mix
"not all those who wander o're lost "
more bears and a super weathered Steal Your Face tire cover
I swear it was all to much!!

So I left a note, I my psychopath print handwriting
I left her my home #
and the 8/22/87 date and the name of this sight
but not the flames as the Boyz barley ever show ,
but I'm gonna bump Docs thread see if we raise the dead
