From the same film, not Peggy-O, nor Darryl Hannah, but she did frequent the Caliente race track with brownish hair.

Princes of Darkness, by Claire Rose Knott,

Princes of Darkness is a unique illustrated account of the careers of Heinrich Prince zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Egmont Prince zur Lippe-Weissenfeld - two aristocrats who served with the Luftwaffe's night fighter force and whose lives were often interconnected.

The book is the result of many years research on the part of its author, Claire Rose Knott,
who has been granted unprecedented access to never before published diary notes, personal correspondence, logbooks, and family photographs.
The work also benefits from research in archival resources, technical data and recollections supplied by the Princes' night fighter contemporaries.

The text contains firsthand accounts by family, friends and fellow officers who offer unique accounts of the ambition, intensity and actions of the leading characters in time of war.

Over the years, the Princes have courted controversy with several conspiracy theories regarding their deaths. The plausibility of such theories when viewed against their aristocratic family, religious & educational backgrounds, and placed against the backdrop of intense social upheaval under the Nazi regime, are investigated here.

Prince Heinrich Zu Sayn-Wittgenstein was the third highest scoring night fighter ace in the Luftwaffe who served from mid-1941 until his death in 1944. He was killed when his aircraft was hit by return fire from a bomber or by an RAF nightfighter. Zu Sayn-Wittgenstein baled out but was killed by the impact of landing. His victory score at that time of his death was 83 - 29 in the East and 54 in the West.

Prince Egmont zur Lippe-Weissenfeld, an Austrian, started his career as a daylight fighter pilot, and became a nightfighter when serving under the famous Helmut Lent as Staffelkapitan. He is accredited with 51 aerial victories while flying - mainly the Messerschmitt Bf 110 - and is ranked 21st among the German night fighter aces. He was killed on 3 March 1944 when his Bf 110 clipped the ground and crashed during a flight over the Ardennes.

The text is supported by rare and fascinating photographs of the pilots' aircraft,
weaponry (including the upward-firing 'Jazz Music' twin cannon)
and radar equipment as well as others in their squadrons,
together with commissioned color artwork of Messerschmitt Bf 110 and Junkers Ju 88 night fighters.

And that's the news from Fake Wobegon. I wondered to where you'd meandered off, chicklet. Good to hear you're stuff's "the thing" or mostly so once more.

Bradley International Airport has over two million enplanements per year, making it the largest airport by far in CT, and the second-largest in NE.

Orly Airport, Lindbegh's destination, has faded to second in France, Charles deGaulle IA now out-enplaning Orly by over 40 million passengers and terrorists.

It still has its gloire de Lindbergh, however.
As long as we are on the subject of France, congratulations, mes amis, on getting it right in your election by defeating Mme. Le Pen. Now there would be the beginning of an evil axis, DT and she. Whew.

Not that it would last long as an alliance. Too much of Mr. Chauvin in our president, The Grabber.

I must say that from what I can tell on the web, SD has some outstanding examples of Public Art.

I think the dampness of the weather lately affected my left knee again...it began hurting when the clouds came in the other day. It was hobbling me all day yesterday until I got out the door and walked to the cigar store and back. It felt a bit less than "pretty good" at first but then I was able to make it home without stopping, mostly.

I was zipping right along, in fact, but only in relation to a snail. I'm so far from Batso-fit now, I doubt I'll be able to do much for a while. I've been lying in bed as much as I can stand it hoping to rest the knee and get the swelling to die down. Taking water pills as scheduled probably helps some, too.

At least I didn't do this on the trail someplace. Why, I heard this story, a real hair-raiser, about a friend of mine from up north...he dodged fate and managed a self-rescue, thank you, Fate.

That's TWO friends nearly getting the whack, first TJ Bob and now DMT. Which brings me to my subject, namely, John Eleazarian, one of our Taco stalwarts since I've been here.

He's no longer posting on FB nor is he posting here, nor are there any images attributed to him or postings listed.

Who has a clue about John? Have I missed something?

An inquiring mind might inquire as to what the comparative stats are on RS inaccuracies vs those "inaccuracies" Trump expounds almost daily.

This inquiring mind wonders in what way Trump is a journalist. Since he's not, your attempted comparison measures nothing.

Jezebean and, or Mad Bolter- please explain the specific Trump policies that are going to make America great again.

I opposed Trump, actively argued against voting for him on this forum, and voted against him twice, so I'm probably not the right person to ask.

That said, if his administration can put some balance into the Obama administration's anti-business regulations, perhaps that will undo the damage of his trade policies. If his judicial nominees are of the quality of those he proposed for SCOTUS consideration, the quality of the federal bench will increase.

I'm afraid I have little hope on either foreign policy or other domestic policy, unless he's capable of changing his mind. Perhaps if he found a way to deep six Twitter. . . ?

John might turn up.
Maybe he just folded his tent and headed To The East, as the mystical say.
Until he returns, we must simply (and possibly speciously) speculate over his FATE.

No "snide" allowed, boys.,, I promised neebee.

And there is no law against speaking in Garblebase, so..,

That spiral has been identified as a loop-de-loop of the gamma portion of the Santa Claus nebula that was mistakenly delivered by a drunken postal elf - he's been sent to another galaxy for his comeuppance. The Jolly Old Elf himself took an interest.

There is no cause for alarm, BlooBoy.

Also, I've located John Eleazarian. He's got three FB sites, not just one or two. Two for John P. and one for the regular John. I check one of the John P. sites, but not both.

I messaged and he got back to me...he's just burnt out by the vitriol inherent from the recent presidential election and also busy with a new granddaughter, for which I gave him our congratulations. Don't know if he's coming to Facelift this season.

More positive news: since I went to bed very early, got some decent sleep, and took an extra water pill and some Tylenol, the knee has both stopped swelling and hurting. And I can walk in a near normal fashion.

I'm totally ready for Fiske Peak, though I'd settle for a bus trip to Catheys Valley or to El Portal.
