Directions to the Gordon Ranch

From the town of Joshua Tree, drive south on Park Blvd towards the National Park. After about 2 miles, turn right on Rincon, then left on Star. I am the very very last house on Star Lane. 9561 Star Lane.
Parking can get a bit tricky, but the eariler you arrive, the closer you can get to the house. You may arrive anytime on Sat.....if you get there too early, I may put you to work....
If you wish to tent camp or car camp;..that is fine. If you need suggestions as to cool places to pitch a tent;....ask me and I can show you some very nice quiet spots.
I am saying that things start a 5 PM...but you may want to get there a bit earlier and get better parking and "settle in" for the evening.
Please if you have been drinking...just sleep in your car or on the living room floor or whatever. Just ask me if you need any help with this;....(sleeping bag, blanket, floor space, barf bag...whatever)...

PETS AND CHILDREN

Children are welcome but this is not a kids event;...It's an adult party. My kids will be there for part of the evening, and then probably leave to grandparents or go to bed. My oldest son Beck will be there and can stay up as late as he wishes. Again, it's your call on bringing your children.

Pets;.......well;....one of the parties here we did have a dog fight and someone got bite and I had a lawsuit filed against me. Probably best to leave the pets at home...but if you do have a dog, cat or fish that is traveling with you;.....it's up to you.......keep pets and people safe!

Canadians
As you know, it's difficult to keep our borders secure and there will be a few Canadians attending. Most Canadians are actually quite friendly and fun, ...but then there is Justin Bieber;...just wanted to be up front and out in the open with this. We do have a separate porti-pottie for Locker, boulderers and Canadians.

Just to make things perfectly clear;....
This fundraiser is an opportunity to help out Tom Gilje, to get together with our homies and commune and par-tay, and to go rock climbing. Yeah, it's a fund raiser, and I know that I am an "psyched" fundraiser. But;....it's all donations. You give what you can and what you wish to give. If you are a dirtbag climber with little or no money;.....donate a quarter;..that is fine!........For you quarter, we still have a supertopo high sierra guidebook, Greg Epperson's Rock prints book, a raffle ticket, unlimited pizza and beer, epperson slide show, three bands, tequilla bar, free camping, meet and greet with tucker tech...even use of the porti-pottie.....Everyone is welcome!

yeah;..it's a fundraiser;..but it's a people event about people who love to rock climb, love each other, love themselves (it's a good thing..), love to help out, love to get together and talk about "back in the day"...people who love beer, music, the desert, climbing, movies with gladiators, climbing slide shows, pizza, Celine Dion, prizes. Anyways;....don't feel obligated to donate anything or any money that you don't have , can't afford, or feel uncomfortable donating. Give what you can, have a fun time, and whatever you can help out with;.....Tom will greatly appreciate it!......and I appreciate everyone who is helping us reach our goal. If you are stinking rich and want to throw down a wad;.....please do so too;.....share the wealth! Basically;...give what you can and give what you feel comfortable giving and sharing......
Our $20 donation at the event is JUST a donation;....if you don't have it or don't want to donate it...just say "Here is my donation, sucka"...and whatever it is.......that is fine with me. Just try to make it and have an awesome time....that is what it is all about. Getting together with the homies and sharing what we have with our pals who need help....(and throughout our lives, during many occasions;...that would be all of us;...everyone needs love, help, support, and our loved ones and friends "watching our backs").

The truly amazing thing to me is;.......we are basically a bunch of knucklehead climbers;....often misfits and oddities......lots of different people from lots of different places in time and space;....many times people who can't seem to find much common ground (rap bolting, bolting, trad, sport, gym, democrates, music, religion, know one cares if you tele)........but when we come together for something like this;....it's actually piss easy to agree on something......and raise $10,000 for someone who we love and really needs a helping hand;....it's truly amazing and beyond cool to me. It almost seems like magic ....and I think it is......

See you soon!

A super awesome package came today from Art (Roots) McCarthy
He calls it "vintage" collectable climbing stuff......but it sure as hell looks like the rack I often climb with......(especially those thin pins..)..

2 Clog stopper/hex rigs
two very old carabiners (one steel and one stamped BEDAYN)
SMC biner/rap bar
one really cool vintage piton hammer (nice size and feel)
2 bongs
3 angles
2 SMC recalled "death" hangers
One stitch plate (with the spring)
two RURPS
Three lost arrow pins
two funky/cool Euro pitons

I still use stuff like this when I go climbing;..I think the stuff is super cool and wonderful!.........

All items are for sale, silent auction, or raffle
