got up on trail ridge on Saturday. You can drop into this strip of snow on Sundance mountain which turns into a massive snow field lower down. You can milk about 2300 feet if you go all the way down to Fall River. I was way to early as the two prior days had highs on the 50's and the snow was still frozen. So I did a couple of short laps on the low angle too before dropping into the steep stuff at the bottom. The snow was still quite firm while climbing back to trail ridge and I wished I had taken the crampons I left in the car. It was inverted and the plains were covered in a sea of clouds.

Norm that was late June. Still got in 2000+ feet of ertv. That was my last day. Could have gotten in July pretty easy but you are going to have walk a fair bit with the boards on your back if you want to get in august September and oct

Aloha kama'aina snowchasers... get out there and send us some vids! Might be too bumpy over the a'a, but the road could be pretty good. If no skis, screw some foot straps on a skim board.

Wilber where are you skiing when you come out?it was pretty fun on Red Mountain Pass last weekend but everyone needs more snow. Berthoud is doing OK but nothing compared to the last two winters.

Just got a pair of 200cm Glittertinds in the mail! I'm going back to skinny for the hills and dales, as my Epochs were feeling a bit too wide and modern and alpine-like. Going to mount some Voile cable traverse 3-pins and pair them up with an $8 pair of basically new leather Alico lace-up 75mm tele boots from the Gear Xchange! Psyched to get retro cross country downhill à la (au?) Steve Barnett. Thank you for not caring. I'll show myself out now...
