Not sure why.... but I got gifted from people I don't know very well, but who wish me well, nonetheless....

I appreciate this gift.

Day two.

Gift Two, from: Tobia

From: Rob

To: Tobia - Thank you for this tree and the kindness expressed on it’s base.

This will be something that I for some time.

Thank You very much. I feel that I at least have a friend. Music seems to be a driving force in your life too… but I could be wrong…

Love,
Rob

Finally found some digital film for my camera!

Thanks to my Secret Santa! I always love adding to the cup collection (especially when they are handmade in the USA!) While I personally am not a coffee drinker my wife and daughter are and since we only eat/drink organic this is perfect!

Got a package from Seattle today!

I actually can piture in my mind where this Santa lives without Google maps.

My old stomping grounds...

Skip gets home tonight from her 5-week stint in SF, so we will probably open our gifts from The Museum and my "secret Santa" (nudge, nudge) tonight. Pictures to come later after her arrival and margaritas and dinner.

Thanks for getting it here on time! We leave in two days...

Ok, the wait is over.

Thanks for the wonderful gifts!

Skip got some Big Love from South Dakota!

It isn't over yet...

And I got an amazing gift, a book I have been wanting to get for many years. Next time I am in LA, I will be sure to get arrested - because buildering is not just buildering anymore. I am so psyched to get this - it feels like a gift of radical behavior. Just the thing for an aging non-conformist!

Thanks from both of us - great gifts!

The best gift of all was having the girl come home after 5 weeks in San Francisco, though.

BIG LOVE to all of you!

Wow MisterE that LA Climbs book looks great. Love the route description. There are some quarries in the UK that have similar cracks:)

Not sure why.... but I got gifted from people I kind of feel I know and who wish me well....

I appreciate this gift.

Day three.

Gift Three, from: Russ + Susan

From: Rob

To: Russ + Susan - Thank you very much for these T-shirts. They will be worn and I will think of you when I wear them. Not at the same time… well, each of you… I’m not wearing you guys, but I will think of you two when I wear the shirts

Thank You Both very much. It’s nice to imagine friendships that could extend over these times and distances.

Love,
Rob

(P.S. I never had what it took to be anywhere near these people, except as a spectator of the seemingly endless stream of humor that pours from this amazing team of honorable people. I only wish I could have had friends like this when it But then again… That was never in the cards for me. But you guys already knew that from the git-go.)

I really wish I knew how to convey what you both have meant to me over the years… A different family from my own, but the same, without the bloodlines… and better genes. Thinking back on my life… I could have used friends like these in the formative years. I might have turned out a much better man and subsequently a much better human.

Cheers

hey there say, wow... i just heard that my secret santa box, made it safe, and i told the gal, as she knows now--to open on christmas :))

so then, resting easy, it is not lost, etc... :)

wow, and, say, rob/jingy...

wow, some very honorable thoughts and shares...

say, and as to part of this, as to this quote here:

I could have used friends like these in the formative years. I might have turned out a much better man and subsequently a much better human.

we all are learning daily,on these very things, for ourselves:
our 'formative years' can STILL be around us, even now, as to various
steps, in growth...

we, you, us, me, him, her, etc, at any moment, are thus
able to 'turn out much better' than our wildest dreams,
if we TAKE these few 'left over' formative years (that trickled into our adulthood--as we are but 'larger children' really) and keep growing
towards our goals...

some very nice thoughts, here, rob... thank you for sharing...

this is the season for the greatest gifts of all:
our circle... :)

say, nick/strider!
this christmas secret santa, thread, sure is a great way to end one year,
and START a new year...

it feels fresh, warm, and fully of camaraderie and love!

I got this from Washington State (I think?), John has his fist inside of new chalkbag! I may let him have it, he needs one. Pretty cool.

As a gift to myself and Coz I bought this rad lamp from Norwegian. Coz wins, Weedge wins, and I get a sweet lamp.

Merry Christmas!

Joey F, it appears my gift to you may be a day late....it was supposed to arrive on the 24th but I got an e-mail saying it may be 1-2 days overdue.

I hope you dig it, I will be getting one myself for next spring.

EDIT: I just tracked the gift, Joey, you should have gotten today!!!! Thanks Amazon.

I got mine in the mail last week. It said don't open till dec 25, and I listened, despite the fact that I'm out of town from dec 21-27. Thanks secret Santa, I'll post when I'm back in town. I can't wait!!

Strider & ihateplastic, I sent Simon a gift yesterday, just to find out that I'm not his Santa. I sent you both emails, with no response. st. Nick, who is my giftee? I have not received any gift, I have kept requesting who is my giftee, you told me to check my email. When checking my email I picked up ihateplasti, Simon Carter. After sending my package to Simon, I noticed I was his Santa in 2012? I don't know what to do? strider let me know who the gift goes to.

Cheers MF

hey there say, folks... okay, huge 'wish for success here' for fogarty! and to get his secret santa gift going...

little glitches, fogarty, are just like the winds that arise on odd occasions:
they have a way of knocking down a few neat blossoms, fruits, and blowing around a few interesting trinkets, etc...

but around here, no major damage done... we all just roll with the winds, and see the things of interest, that seem to jolt the 'give ride' a bit...

when the winds die down, all is well...
and we have an even BETTER story to share and an even better memory, to
add to it all..

hang in there, things will get well!
we are all cheering for a great success, again here, this year!
