Howdy again Supertopo-ians!

It's that time of year again. This year will be the sixth annual Supertopo Secret Santa Gift Exchange. The previous 5 years have been a pretty fun success so hopefully we can get even more people involved this year. For reference:

2010 - http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/1311158/Supertopo-Secret-Santa-Gift-Exchange-2010

Supertopo Secret Santa Gift Exchange 2014 Rules
You must be a registered forum user of Supertopo.com BEFORE 11/3/2014. Sorry to you lurkers who want to participate but this is to insure that we don't get any opportunists who want free stuff without reciprocation.
Having said that, if you do agree to participate you also acknowledge the fact that you may receive NOTHING back if your Secret Santa is a d#@&%ebag. We will of course mercilessly torment them on the forum but otherwise there is nothing to be done.
And having said that, DON'T BE A JERK! Do not sign up if you are not FULLY COMMITTED to FULL PARTICIPATION.
The gift should cost around $20. Homemade gifts are encouraged, there is no price put on care, creativity and thoughtfulness. Also factor in for shipping, so your overall cost will be around $30 depending on what you bought and how expensive it is to ship.
Gifts MUST NOT BE NSFW!!! (NSFW= not safe for work) No porn, rubber appendages, lingerie, etc...! EVERYONE should plan on sending and receiving something clean and fun!
Everyone is encouraged to post of pics of their gift, sharing the joy with the rest of us!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:
EMAIL ME BY 11/30/2014 if you wish to participate
Email me at supertoposanta (at) gmail (dot) com
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ADD THE ABOVE EMAIL TO YOUR SPAM FILTER. Every year we have problems with my emails getting filtered through spam. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, when you email me to join ADD THE EMAIL TO YOUR SAFE SENDERS LIST
Give me your supertopo name, real name, shipping address and any other special considerations like gender/allergies/crazy phobias/etc... =)
Secret Santa Name Distribution emails will go out on 12/2/2014. In this email will be the name and address of who you need to send your gift to. Also, at the same time, someone else is getting your name and address so they can send you a gift!
You will now have 2 weeks to purchase or finish creating your gifts
Have your package in the mail by 12/15/2014. This gives 10 days for shipping (hopefully enough to ensure timely delivery during the Holiday Rush)

You do NOT have to respond to this post to participate. Maybe you are Royal or Jim Bridwell or Chris Mac or etc... and wish to remain anonymous. Fine. However you MUST send an email to me supertoposanta (at) gmail (dot) com but otherwise participation is 100% anonymous unless you choose to divulge your identity to your recipient yourself.

Happy Holidaze!

Skully, I volunteer to be your secretary. Just sign up for the gift exchange and email the secretary to make it happen. No sweat, Dude :)

Just a reminder to everyone. You're not in until you officially email our ST Santa. It's Supertoposanta@gmail.com

You need to send Santa your ST avatar name, your real name and mailing address along with any special gift concerns. Are you allergic to .....your gender or just ignore all that jazz and hope for your Santa to send yo the best.

Cheers, Lynnie

Ho Ho Ho!

Sorry to have been so absent lately, things have been super busy for me (Skully, I can empathize and glad you're in). Work has been abnormally busy with a conference and an employee wedding. And to top it off I have had guests at my house the past week, one of whom is sleeping in my spare bedroom where my computer is, so no real chance to catch up the past week.

Rest assured however, I will catch up on my next days off, Monday or Tuesday. At that point I will send confirmation emails to everyone who has signed up. PLEASE make sure you send your email to the special email address (as Lynne advises) of: supertoposanta (at) gmail (dot) com. For those of you who have messaged me through my supertopo email, you DO NOT need to email me again, I have you saved and you are on the list.

Despite my lack of promotion this past week we already have over 40 people signed up, you guys are AMAZING! Our highest number of participants was last year, somewhere in the mid 50's if I recall correctly. With 2 more weeks to sign up, I am confident we can beat that record.

To address the privacy/identity issue brought up earlier. To sign up you need to give ME your supertopo name and real name BUT some people every year wish for their supertopo identity to remain secret from even their gift giver. I do not know why this is a concern and I don't really care, this is about connecting with our community, whether you know them or not. So a few of you may get matched with someone who does not want you to know their supertopo name. I am sorry if that is an inconvenience for you but please try to understand and empathize with their wishes. We all have concerns in life that other may not understand.

Again, I will be reading every email sent to me and sending back responses/sign-up confirmations this coming Monday/Tuesday. I am sorry for the delay but it takes several hours to go through everyone, get them in the spreadsheet, double check, triple check, send confirmations and then quadruple check. I made a few errors last year that where really unfortunate and I intend to make sure it doesn't happen again. I am also going to do my best to make sure people are not matched with someone they had last year. I learned my lesson and want to make things better. Unfortunately, my records only go back to last year since I delete all prior year info to maintain privacy.

Cheers!

hey there say, ihateplastic... i remember when i did not do the first year, as, one, i think? i saw it too late and two, i was not having any funds, at that time... but by the next year, folks had encouraged me and others that it does not matter if you need to just make something...

and post only a small thing... it was the thought and effort, that made it all so very special...

and that has held true, through the years...
so be encouraged folks... and, as we grow, over the years, sometimes
we even get a chance to do the extra fun stuff that we wish we could do,
for add-ons...

it is an adventure and sharing good, simple, or interesting things that join friendships... :)

Sorry for the delay folks, it was a bad week at work (literally the worst I have ever had) and I am just catching up to personal stuff now. I have everyone's info who emailed me on Santa's list and am now just starting to send confirmations that you are signed-up. Everyone should get theirs by the end of tonight. Also a few folks who need to send me more info are getting emails as well. Please remember to add supertoposanta (at) gmail (dot) com to your safe sender's list so you can make sure you get my emails!

Currently we are 16 people away from the record number of sign-ups, so please, if you want to join, SIGN-UP NOW!

Hop on the Super Taco Santa Sleigh and "Rock around the Christmas Tree" as the "Sleigh Bells Ring" and the Chestnuts Roast on the Open Campfire.

Somewhere there actually IS a White Christmas while So Cal sings, "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas."

And the latest breaking news....."Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." Yikes!

If you miss this year's annual Super Topo Gift and FUN exchange, well "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" anyway.

Cheers and guess what? "It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas."

Happy Holidays to all even if you don't celebrate Christmas. I guess this is more about the Campfire and the people we care about here, anyway. :)

The last few years we did this, people have chipped in to buy Strider a gift. I see no reason why we shouldn't continue this tradition.
Please contact me off site for info.

Also, if you can't send your gift in time, don't sign up. It's a real buzz kill to get it a week after Christmas.

Matching is officially done! Everyone should have an email with their giftee's information.

I did my absolute best to make sure people did not end up with the same person as last year but I have to say that is tough to do. I caught about 3 repeat matches so if you are a repeat this year, my deepest apologies. I simply do not have a great way to screen for that other than manually checking each person and I am not perfect.

Thanks again to everyone for joining! Last year we saw some amazing, creative and thoughtful gifts and I know we will see even better this year!

Woot!

"w00t" was originally an truncated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.

Huh! I did not know that! Learn something new every day...

Luckily, I didn't have to do any research this year - I know my recipient and am already making a very appropriate gift.

Easy peasy.

Just got my ST Secret Santa gift in the mail today! I always let my daughter open packages because she thinks everything that comes to the house is a present for her. Well good call on this one. Secret Santa brought us a "Best Hikes with Kids in Washington" book. Awesome!
Some of the hikes we already did this past year (she is good for about 3-4 miles round trip) but there are about 180 more that we haven't in this book!
I also just noticed that one of the hikes in the book is right by where my daughter Sierra picked out the Christmas tree in the background of this picture!

Having an awful holiday season with my baby experiencing love drama - very hard on a mom, too.

But I toddled on down to the post office and mailed my gift. I forgot a card with the heartfelt note, so a little guilt crept in. However it was nice to offer a trinket to someone who might get a little lift from a gift. That perked up my spirits considerably. That old saying is so right, the joy comes from giving.

Then I entered the house and behold - my gift had arrived. Mom disappeared, and my inner child insisted on opening the gift NOW. The new kitten had to yield his spot under the tree for my gift.
I do love my coffee

And the nicest surprise, a heartfelt letter from the giftster, Jefe. I was his Secret Santa last year. The day may come when I will need that local tour of Arizona hotspots. I have climbed there, for a couple of hours, when we attended our daughter's college graduation last April. And according to the report from Kaiser, my vitamin D levels are on the low side of acceptable. A boost may be necessary.

Thank you for the holiday spirit!!

OPEN YOUR GIFT.

Even though I am not your secret santa, I still want to see.

Moonlight was replaced by Salem. He enjoys the tree just as much. It is not our intention to have a pet. However strays get abandoned in our yard as we do not have a dog. We do have a daughter who managed to replace Moonlight with Salem, a parakeet,Fia, and a bearded dragon, Amber. So instead of music boxes playing "silent Night", we have a parakeet shrieking at a kitten who climbs the tree and launches himself in her direction, hoping for a holiday meal accompanied by the chirping of crickets, Amber's food.

Just finished the third day of an accelerated five day Wilderness First Responder field class and took time out from home work to check my mail forwarding service's on-line mail box. Bet you know what I found! Yup, there's a package from Secret Santa in the queue! I've got two more 12 hr days of WFR, then off to JT for a bit of R&R (rock & reflection).

Since I'm living full-time in an RV (no home address) and traveling the States I need to figure out where/when to get this package sent ASAP. I'll be through the San Diego area for Christmas and visiting family after JT so I hope to have it in hand by the middle of next week. Stay tuned!

Great gift #1 was a box of excellent chocolates. My Santa did her research well and knows that we eat a little chocolate with our herb tea almost every night.

Great gift #2 was a duo of L'Occitane products. I LOVE their stuff. What an excellent choice!

Amazing gift #3 was a heartfelt letter from Abend, my secret Santa. It's too personal to share but the sentiment was so beautiful that it brought me to tears. Abend, I am sending you a PM. The mail function has been squirrley this year. If you don't hear from me, let me know here.

Thanks so much Abend, for a wonderful 2014 Supertopo Secret Santa experience!

I can't rest until everyone's gift has arrived, and every gift opened. Christmas is a time for children, so let's be like children. I loved my gift, I loved sending a gift (which has not yet appeared on screen), I love reading about your gifts, and I am jumping up and down reciting the mantra - OPEN YOUR GIFT!

Note to self - must up my game and compose heartfelt letter and wrap my gifts more beautifully.

Hahaha... so many creative, clever and fun gifts! You guys rock!

Just a late reminder that everyone needs to make sure their package was in the mail by Monday. And if you still haven't sent it, DO IT NOW!

Just got done with Jury Duty and was stuck away from home for a couple days. That was fun, never been on a jury before, fascinating experience. Not guilty, so I guess that was that guys x-mas present.

Secret Santa - THANK YOU, and Lucas says "Thank You" too!

How did Santa just KNOW that Lucas likes that soft type of plastic as a toy? And how did Santa KNOW that I had been wondering if Lucas would like a flying disk???

Lucas and I love this gift, though I think he needs to watch another dog who knows how to lead out on the toss. He runs once I throw it, but isn't fast enough to get there before it gets to the ground. No matter to Lucas, as you can see. I just hope he isn't embarrassed when he finally figures out the game - hahah

Well it looks like Santa got his gift today, thanks to the generosity of everyone here. And as always, Santa waits until Christmas to open his gifts like a good boy (although Ms. Claus think's Santa is NUTS for not opening it now. Every year she is baffled by this).

Note: Santa's gift from you folks under the tree, a Christmas card from neebee in the window and the difficult to see brass/copper ornament on the tree from neebee as well (circa 2011??)

Seriously, the point of doing this has never been to receive anything back from you folks, I started this as a way to give back to those who have given so much to the community here. But, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to zip who has organized this and to everyone who contributed to Santa's gift fund. It is truly appreciated and it means a lot.

I hope everyone here has a wonderful Holiday, Happy New Year and plenty of safe, stellar climbing in 2015!

My internet has moments of unreliability sometimes. Redid today, (tonight for you), so it will probably, very likely, be late. Maybe it arrives in Denver just in the nick of time.

Not sure why.... but I got gifted from people I don't know very well, but who wish me well, nonetheless....

I appreciate this gift.

Day one.

Gift One, from: Nita + Andy...

From: Rob

To: Nita and Andy - Thank you for your gifts... Tasty chocolate always brings on a smile.

A couple that I have admired from the moment I them at one of the facelifts, I can't remember which. It must have been the general sense that this is the team to be near when the sun goes down and the campfire light flickers on the faces of those in the circle.
(Did anyone notice how I always just 'had' to sit in a place that, to me, helped to complete the circle around the campfire.... I don't know why I did that...(Psych 101 anybody?) Maybe I imagined that I could be let into this special circle of friends if I sit where no one does in order to give myself the impression that I completed this circle, somehow).

Thank You BOTH so very much. With you, I feel something familial that I cannot quite put into words.

(P.S. Now I know where the package that freaked me out last year came from. I couldn't figure out who sent it... I savored the Orange! I shared with my co-workers while speculating on who my secret admirer could be that was sending me this sweet treat?)

well, actually AS to the whole post, wow:
FIRST:
here's to your 'psych 101 anybody' , here you go:

A VERY MUCH NEEDED thing to do:
to dare to SIT and make the campfire circle complete...

folks never really realize this:

camp fire, is in need of a circle... SO IS a beaded necklace...
encircling, is what makes it a treasured 'event' (to be kept and savored, even later, as to memories) OR AS TO THE NECKLACE--
a thing (meaning the necklace and keeping it near on, to grace one)

all cultures have campfires, and all cultures have
necklaces and most are beads...
WELL, a necklace is not a necklace if ONE BEAD is not connected...

it breaks... :(

you can claps it, but the missing bead, will make the whole thing just
slip off the neck and fall away somewhere, with all the 'treasure that graces the wear'er, lost upon the dirt of life' ...

circles NEED the 'join in er' (as well as any 'first bead')...
yep, they need the next bead... the new bead... the older bead... why some even need just the metal clasp, if it is not made of string, only...
AND THEY need the LAST precious bead/beads, as well!

or--just got a loose strand.. soon to slip apart...

phych 101--
you found the perfect spot, rob, to keep the CIRCLE to be
a treasure of life!

otherwise, the ol' campfire, would be 'a straggle' and the old cold winds
would chase folks away, :))

now, as to this... this is sooo fun:
mystery solving:

P.S. Now I know where the package that freaked me out last year came from. I couldn't figure out who sent it... I savored the Orange! I shared with my co-workers while speculating on who my secret admirer could be that was sending me this sweet treat?

:)

made it more of a 'open at a time' and savor, type gift...

they will be so happy to get a gift from over the ocean,
that time will just melt away, into fond 'travel time' enhancement of it all...

OMB,

You're welcome.

Selecting a gift for someone you don't know can be a challenge.

I know that it can get kinda cold up North, so a hat seemed to be a no brainer, and the treats are good no matter where you live.

I checked out TNF, Patagonia, and Mountain Hard Wear first, but nothing really jumped out at me as Olympic Mountain Boyable.

Then I saw the pic on the label of the sherpa dude of the hat I finally selected, and he looked kinda cool. I tried it on and Boy Howdy,,,,,I looked damn sexy.

To me, the hat had a kind of up town, hipster, Seattle grunge look to it, so I went for it.

You are a lot better looking than me, and you make that hat work.

Enjoy.

From: Rob

To: Russ + Susan - Thank you very much for these T-shirts. They will be worn and I will think of you when I wear them. Not at the same time… well, each of you… I’m not wearing you guys, but I will think of you two when I wear the shirts

Thank You Both very much. It’s nice to imagine friendships that could extend over these times and distances.

Love,
Rob

(P.S. I never had what it took to be anywhere near these people, except as a spectator of the seemingly endless stream of humor that pours from this amazing team of honorable people. I only wish I could have had friends like this when it But then again… That was never in the cards for me. But you guys already knew that from the git-go.)

I really wish I knew how to convey what you both have meant to me over the years… A different family from my own, but the same, without the bloodlines… and better genes. Thinking back on my life… I could have used friends like these in the formative years. I might have turned out a much better man and subsequently a much better human.

we all are learning daily,on these very things, for ourselves:
our 'formative years' can STILL be around us, even now, as to various
steps, in growth...

we, you, us, me, him, her, etc, at any moment, are thus
able to 'turn out much better' than our wildest dreams,
if we TAKE these few 'left over' formative years (that trickled into our adulthood--as we are but 'larger children' really) and keep growing
towards our goals...

some very nice thoughts, here, rob... thank you for sharing...

this is the season for the greatest gifts of all:
our circle... :)

I got this from Washington State (I think?), John has his fist inside of new chalkbag! I may let him have it, he needs one. Pretty cool.

As a gift to myself and Coz I bought this rad lamp from Norwegian. Coz wins, Weedge wins, and I get a sweet lamp.

Merry Christmas!

Joey F, it appears my gift to you may be a day late....it was supposed to arrive on the 24th but I got an e-mail saying it may be 1-2 days overdue.

I hope you dig it, I will be getting one myself for next spring.

EDIT: I just tracked the gift, Joey, you should have gotten today!!!! Thanks Amazon.

I have not received any gift, I have kept requesting who is my giftee, you told me to check my email. When checking my email I picked up ihateplasti, Simon Carter. After sending my package to Simon, I noticed I was his Santa in 2012? I don't know what to do? strider let me know who the gift goes to.

hey there say, folks... okay, huge 'wish for success here' for fogarty! and to get his secret santa gift going...

little glitches, fogarty, are just like the winds that arise on odd occasions:
they have a way of knocking down a few neat blossoms, fruits, and blowing around a few interesting trinkets, etc...

but around here, no major damage done... we all just roll with the winds, and see the things of interest, that seem to jolt the 'give ride' a bit...

when the winds die down, all is well...
and we have an even BETTER story to share and an even better memory, to
add to it all..

hang in there, things will get well!
we are all cheering for a great success, again here, this year!

Sweet!
Abundant ST SS gifts!

The small tree in our trailer surrounded by SS gifts.

Sipping some Pete's now (couldn't wait!) as I peruse the OR climbing guide. As we travel back to OR in May, then again late summer/fall, it should really come in handy. Was there in Nov, but between lack of good beta and the cold snap it was more of a looky-loo excursion (and early turkey day with my Portland based son)

Thanks SS! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

hey there all, say... wow, here is my share now...

first off:

sorry a bit late, i could have shared last night, as, it was such a wonderful time with my mommy, on phone, that i DID open my
secret santa, JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT--with my mommy...

*our daddy died, in feb, after being very gravely ill from sepsis, all through mid dec--so i needed my mommy time last night... and
thus, DID not get post the pictures...

so now:
dear bluelens!!! this gift was so fantastic, being that it has more
sentimental memories attached, than you would know...

yellowstone... oh my...

first, when i had to move to a new home, in mich and a younger brother,
helped me move out here, by my daddy's SPECIAL request...

i got to go through yellowstone...

then--i saw yellowstone, through only this time from afar, as i went
to spend time with my dear twin buddies...

then--yellowstone, again, as i did a special painting for bobby model's mom, of him, as a child, by his mom's side, YELLOWSTONE in back!

then--a wonderful video i saw somewhere??? about the 'secret trails' of the hidden yellowstone, ?waterfalls? and all...

NOW--THIS WONDERRFUL art of yellowstone book, from you...
oh, it is a deeper treasure than you will know...
(last year, too, i got a book of john muir, so these both match, as to
the greatoutdoors and things i love to have nearby as being books!!)...

edit:
PLUS of course, i am a painter, so i will love to check out
how i can learn from some of these painting... :)
(some are photographs, too, it seems)...

so now... LEAD UP, to the other gift in this box:
my mom and i always shared about the native american things, when i was
little, as for some reason, i was drawn to the children in many stories and things that i read... i was a big-mommy-at-heart, though just a little girl...

well--here it is:
now i have this little book from you, about
NATIVE AMERICAN PROVERBS !

(MOM used to read me aesop's fables and little sayings, too, as a kid,
so i loved 'sayings' to begin with and proverbs of wisdom, from many
angles and folks) ...
had NEVER seen a book, like this one that you sent!!

much warmth and wisdom to enjoy now, from these books...

thank you so much and happy sweet christmas...

NOTE TO STRIDER:
i love how this supertopo secret santa, joins so many of us, in new ways, old ways, and helps us interact, as to getting to KNOW each other and learn more of each other, too...

HERE IS THE GIFT PIC:

thank you dear bluelens...
happy sweet christmas to you and your family...

ps:
lovely song, there, shared for the facelift friend, rob/jingy
say, songs DO a lot more for us and others, than we realize...

thanks for posting the gifts--that FISH mug is really nice!
you can feel the coolness of the waters, :)
greens and blues, do that, well, to us artist, it really does!

thank you for sharing your heart...

say, extra note:
just saw a neat picture of the 'muppet' of lielabien, with a

First day back to work after the Holiday break. Our Christmas was looking grim as my wife has been very ill and we decided not to decorate or have a tree, we decided not to exchange many gifts as we have alot of medical bills and no children. And then on Christmas eve a package arrived from my "SECRET SANTA" It was from a wonderful lady named "LEGGS" I waited until Christmas day to open it as we had only a few to open. It contained a "Astronomy course" "Our Night Sky" book,DVD, and planisphere. COOL!! as the sky is quite bright up here. My wife asked if I knew "LEGGS" from all the years I spent in Yosemite. I said no, I don't think so...maybe..Anyway she was amazed that a person I did not know would spend so much time and money to make sure it arrived before Christmas. She said she must be a"Very Special kind of person" to do this for me..And she smiled...we do not do a lot of smiling around here lately.."LEGGS" you made my wife(and me)"SMILE" You must really be a thoughtful person and anybody that knows you must be blessed..Again.."THANKS LEGGS" for the gift.I hope the New Year brings you much joy and happiness as you certainly deserve it. and the sentiments are part of what makes gift-giving such a

hey there say, jingy... thank you, you are quite welcome...

say, yes, seasons of life and seasons that climbers face or enjoy...

seagoat knew right away, she wanted the quilt done...

the boat, too, stands for her mouton noir, boat--though the boat is done in blue... :))

you can read some about the boat's adventures, somewhere in the taco, and about her husband's sails, to hawaii, also... :)

Card arrived, Santa duty was interrupted by out of town work. Santa is back and catching up. No worries, I've been out of town since the 24th, back at work today. Plenty more Holiday cheer to anticipate. Part of the fun of this exchange is the mix of diligent timely Santas, traveling Santas, Santas with snafus, bumbling creative one of a kind idea Santas.....the varied lives and experiences, shared candidly, make for cheery browsing as the thread develops annually. Stay tuned......

Not sure why.... but I got gifted from climbing’s past… who wishes me well…

I appreciate this gifts.

Day Eleven.

Gift Eleven, from: Mini/Chris Gaggia

From: Rob

To: Mini/Chris,
Thank you for the thought behind this gift. I have dreamed… this should help me catch some of them.
The days of the garage games is a fond, but distant memory to me now. I appreciate the nod, if that’s what this is.

P.S. Edit: I remember the impressions and the line for line replays of every great movie I have ever loved coming outta this guy. Amazing talent, which I believe he is putting to good use in teaching... The only truly noble action in life... To teach the youth so that they may grow into wonderful human beings.... He is a wonderful human being, indeed.

Cheers,
Rob

To keep it a clean break, I thought it best to just update last years post...

Not sure why.... but I got gifted from ST poster… who wishes me well…

Day Twelve.

Gift Twelve, from: JElezarian

From: Rob

To: JElezarian,

Thank you for the gift of this dinner bell… It will be used the next time I have guests…

Cheers,
Rob

Neebee - Thank you for putting this group of gifts together for me. Your graciousness and kindness show through in this giving. I will find a use for the big bell and the musical note bells will be added to something to give it some zest.

Thank you again, everyone, and please everyone, have a wonderful new year.

Your new freind and fan...Frank and Shawnda Wyman...

*Phew! Frank, this brought tears to my eyes when I read this. And I am beyond honored to "meet" you and Shawnda. Please let her know I am sending her very positive, healing vibes.
Truth be told, the shipping didn't matter, I just wanted to make sure the gift arrived in time for the holiday, as i see it did. ~love, Leggs aka Lisa Mae

did you do a lot of photography, or do you just have a great eye for presentation, etc??

(i practiced a lot, by taking pics of my kids, as they grew, etc, and our adventures...)...

wow, and as to this, like bluelens shared, we learn and enjoy so many nice and new things, during this christmas thread... strider, again, this is a great way to finish a year, and MOVE into the new one, with fresh hugs, etc...

say, and jingy... such a heartfelt thoughts about dreams...
we all have special dreams, some hard to share, and some easy...

may the new year, bring some dreams that blossom...

als, the tribute to chris, here, is very nice!... is is hard work, working with kids but very important and much needed...

thank you for sharing so much, and for all the thoughts

hey there say, jingy... thank you again for sharing your fun and heart, with us all...

yep, i saw the update...
i hope you have many nice quests for the dinner bell!

say, sometimes you get a climber 'brother', on your heart, and you know
it is a GOOD time-and-season for something special, for that one...

this year, that happened, that special feeling...

your friends and taco-acquaintances, were very happy to make this special
fun, possible for you! ...

say,
i tried the idea, once for mouse, last year (first time ever done), and it worked out very nice, SO NICE, that we wanted someone else to get to enjoy this!
so then, this year, it was, that i just knew it was a good time for you to enjoy this!

mouse had a FEW different group of friends,of course,
and for you, i made sure you had fun with yours, ... we all enjoyed doing this for you, our climber buddy, our 'taco brother' and a friend, and a long-time friend (as to those of many years back),--

cheers!! from all of us!

may these friendship memories, not only last the whole year, but for many many more years, into the future as well!!

emails, phone calls, at times, may slow down, or get stalled, but the
FRIENDSHIPS stay 'anchored' :)

happy new year!!!!
happy jingles, rob... :)

Thanks for all your effort. The syrup will go wonderfully with my pannenkoeken.....Belgium crepes. Books, well I love them and will enjoy reading about a place I have not had the opportunity to enjoy. Maybe this year. Loves of love for your labor of love. Cheers, Lynnie

such as, at times when you don't have much funds on hand,
it is that time to use:
your thoughts-at-hand, mix them together, and let them add up to the gifts that you sometimes
can't buy... :))

thank you for sharing, so we know we are on the right trail,
in those ways, of fun ideas!!

Ho Ho Ho. Sorry I have been out of pocket since Christmas but work turned into a nightmare. I lost a couple employees and have been working breakfast, lunch and dinner ever since X-mas day until yesterday when we closed. And yesterday I had a dentist appt. for a root canal. Today is finally catch-up day for my personal stuff.

First, a huge thank you to everyone who pitched in on the gift for me and to Zip for organizing it! And zip, you have great taste and impeccable timing, I just broke the zippper on my old black north face jacket and what should the gift from you and everyone be? Of course, a black North Face jacket. You couldn't have selected a better gift!

So it looks like (almost everyone) has been having a great time with some truly touching ad thoughtful gifts.

Anita, I am not sure why your gift has not made it. Your Santa even posted earlier on this thread that it was put into the mail a little late on the 24th but I am surprised it hasn't arrived yet. Maybe it's a customs thing? Hopefully any day now it will arrive. I am sorry it has taken so long. =( Please keep me updated on the progress. I also emailed your Santa to find out if maybe it was returned to him for some reason. I will let you know what I find out.

If anyone else has not received their gift (except for one other person, Mike F. which will be in the mail on Thursday due to sender working the same hellish work schedule as me) PLEASE let me know so i can send emails to find out the scoop.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2015! Thanks for being an awesome group of people!

I also agree that if Stryder felt he wasn't able to continue, he would mention it.
