Hi Everybody,

I'm not on this site too often, but want to say thank you to all who are donating, making things, praying, and showing up for the Coz. You are all golden and I am grateful that he has you in his life!

skip i found an ol' fortress
of a root in the local river drainage
here in strawberry
and i hung your glass under
the confounded bridge
and backlit the lot
with good success.

I talked to Cozzy by FaceTime a couple weeks ago and he was making good progress.
Coherent, present, oriented, engaged.
Apparently doing lots of physio.
On the mend.

We're playing phone tag and I'll post up after we talk next.

Some of us have sent cards to the Palm Springs address. Is he getting them and is that still the best address to send stuff to?

Edit: Super nice work, Norwegian. You are an artist!

If anyone has some ideas of how to funnel funds through a tax deductible charity to get more bang for the buck, then please post up and pm me.

Unfortunately the BCC didn't work out.

Just got off the phone with Coz.
He just finished his daily five hour physio session and says he's progressed from a walker to crutches to walking with a cane.
He looks and sounds good.
Yes, he's received the cards people have sent and really appreciates them.

Chief, is the Palm Springs address still the place to send stuff? Incredible he's walking with a cane. The whole recovery is incredible.

Lynne,

To the best of my knowledge, yes.
Cozzy says he has to be careful about what he puts out on the internet and that the folks at the rehab center keep a pretty tight program as far as access to him goes.
Those who know him well enough to have his phone number can check in with him.
He's returning my texts and calls and says he's arranged to be able to have occasional visitors.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Chief, just wanted to make sure he was getting the cards. I have his phone number. Glad to hear all is going so much better than anyone could imagine. Cheers, Lynne

Yesterday, I tried to make a donation to his recovery fund but the donation site said it had expired. I did send an email to his sister through that site but so far no reply.

Can I just send him a check? -if so, do you have an address?

Toker V, my first impression would be that what you're asking isn't possible. 501c3 corporations have to benefit the public in general, not direct money to specific individuals. But on the other hand, some charities will let you sponsor a specific child in a foreign country, so maybe there is a way to do it. You would have to find an organization that has already been approved by the IRS for this kind of thing: http://www.irs.gov/Charities-&-Non-Profits/Charitable-Organizations/Exempt-Purposes-Internal-Revenue-Code-Section-501(c)(3);

Wow Weege. That root rocks. (Unintended pun). Food for thought. Great idea for display.
