Victoria, BC a lovely old-fashioned old world city. Vancouver, as new world as one could get. I have spent time in both. Saskatoon (edit), I went there to enquire about the veterinary program.
Montreal, a short visit, next time if such, much longer.
Climbing wise, if I ever can.. my tick list.
Bugaboos
Squamish
Lotus flower tower
and if I am sill alive and financially secure (yeah right), Mt Logan?

The Canadians have these beer stores, eh? Where there are dozens and dozens of really good beers available, eh?
I was at a beer store up in Ontario, and the Canuks were filing in and out, bringing back cases and cases of empty beer cans.
What are they all drinking up there? Bud Light. No sh#t.
WTF?

We had the best war in history with Canada( well, Britain, really).
It was about a Canadian pig eating an American settler's potatos on San Juan island.
The pig was the only casualty, and as a result of the shooting, the U.S. sent George Picket ( the Picket's charge guy) and Canada sent A Naval Captain Hornby with troops to establish bridgeheads on the island.
The actual hostilities ended when Hornby refused to confront the Americans, saying that fighting over a pig was about the stupidest thing imaginable.
Good sense prevailed and Kaiser Wilhelm was called in to settle the border issues. Both sides declared victory.

I can't make this stuff up.

Saksatoon, I went there to enquire about the veterinary program.
There are two things to say about this.
1. If you'd known me way back then, I could have helped, because my regular tournament bridge partner was head of the admissions committee for the U of S vet school.
2. It's a good thing you weren't able to get in, because if you had, you'd have been stuck in Saskatoon. The vet school was reputed to be one of the best in the world back then, but...
But I spent the first twenty-three years of my life there, and all I can say about it is that I'm grateful I escaped.

Never smoke it. Reality is for people who can't handle drugs.

climbski2: That's why you needed Canadian soldiers to help you get rid of the Japanese troops in Alaska during WW 2. You're welcome :)

Skip and I were just talking today about how lucky we are to have such friendly neighbors to the north - being from the PNW originally, I can personally attest to this.
It came up because of all the bad border stuff going on in Europe right now!
Thanks Canada (except for the French-Canadians that 80% of the time are as#@&%es) - apologies to the nice French-Canadians...
;)
