Hehe... seriously cool thread.

It was a cold night and I crept into my sleepingbag with the head and all before closing the opening of the bag. Having a nightmare I woke up deep inside the bag and couldn't find my way out. Half asleep and half awake, my desperation grew and with full panic approaching I finally found an opening and saw the light... puhhhh...

I have no picture to share though...

hey there say, donini... wow, now THIS is a really neat share...

not only do i enjoy the climber aspect (which is to be first and foremost) i really enjoyed the artistic photo and creative set-up, of the whole thread...

and now, thus--i know another 'term-unfold' for 'B%B' :))
other than 'bread and breakfast' ...

as to the photos, as well, here is one more 'unfolded term' to describe
them:
bold and beautiful...

B&B =
as, you GOT to be BOLD to get TO the BEAUTIFUL views, here,
being that you go through the 'B&B' process, to EVEN get get the photos...

all in all, we can STILL throw-in the ol' non-climber 'B&B'
(bread and breakfast) as, that works, as well...
(unless someone forgot the food) :O

three-in-one deal here,as to the B&B title, great share... :)

The Lower Brother summit is mostly knife-edge ridge but has classic pocket bivy, and is a sweet place to wake up.

Looking at those pics again, '09 was a nice, wet year.

I was trying to dig up the top of Lower Brother bivy, couldn't find some of the pics, happy to see le_bruce got it covered!

On to Steck-Salathe: After I bogged down on the pitch before the Narrows and then got through the narrows on fumes, we enjoyed this sleeping accomodation:

le_bruce cruised this a few times with no bivies with other partners, so we know where the weak link is!

I was mildly disappointed that NutAgain did not post here the best bivy photo from his excellent Steck-Salathe TR. So I have shamelessly swiped it in order to plug that TR which is a good one.
http://www.supertopo.com/tr/TR-2010-06-Steck-Salathe-on-Sentinel/t10661n.html

And here's that photo, introduced by a great caption:

And le_bruce wasn't as stoked about it as I was. As you can see, he couldn't straighten out his body, and that made him a little cranky::

Climbing B&B's....basecamps and bivouacs, home away from home.

I guess these say something about us. What mine say I'm not exactly proud of. Definitely not basecamps, except for Table Mountain, but no tents, even there. Mostly grass. Some rock and heather.

However, these are some places I spent the night in pursuit of some climb or other.

Smith Rock

Blouberg

under Davis (North Cascades)

on Davis

Table Mountain

Can't say where 'cause it ain't strictly legal

Cutthroat

Magaliesberg (uncomfortably damp)
There is something to be said for tents.

Fritz, your shot of Frank on Mt Stuart looks like where some of us were bivied on a big rescue.
It was raining, of course, and the rain lubed those boulders and one of the overhangong ones rolled onto a couple of friends. They got hurt worse than the people we originally went up
there for. I'll never forget my friend describing how he dreamt he was being crushed and awoke
to see the overhead boulder slowly rolling down onto him. He came out of it better than expected.
The other guy, who I didn't know as well was pretty mushed but he lived.
